WWE News: Former Women’s Champion Declined Appearance At Evolution PPV
WWE has garnered much attention with the announcement of Evolution PPV. It is the first kind of event on mainstay wrestling that will feature women wrestlers only. If we go back to the last decade or so, we can’t even think of such PPV. Women we busy showing skins or some show-off matches on weekly basis.
It was WWE’s efforts to change the perception towards the women. They launched the Women’s Revolution to be the platform for the female superstars to showcase their talents. The barrier between the men and women division was not there anymore as noticed for the past couple of years. It finally made Evolution a reality.
This would be the night where 50 women superstars will perform, in combined. Raw, Smackdown, NXT Women’s Championships will be on the line. Furthermore, there would be multiple returns to the squared circle that we can’t wait for. WWE has already locked in names like Trish Stratus, Lita, Michelle McCool, Kelly Kelly, Molly Holly and more for the Evolution show.
Speaking this brings us to another contemporary name of Gail Kim. Pro-wrestling fans are aware of the fact how this woman changed the course of women’s wrestling despite not being part of the WWE. She worked most for the Impact Wrestling promotion to elevate the level of the female superstars.
But since she already is a legendary name on the circuit, some of the fans did wonder whether she will make an appearance at Evolution. She did notice the rumors going around the social media and addressed it. Gail Kim made her intentions clear that she does not want to compete in a WWE ring, at all.
If someday she does make a return to in-ring competition, it will only be for the Impact Wrestling only. She also revealed the reason that this is the company where she feels comfortable,
“Bc I’ve been there twice. I have never been happy there. Life is about happiness. Impact Wrestling is my happiness. It’s not about money sometimes…. people just don’t understand that.”
As you can see, the Impact Hall of Famer, Gail Kim mentioned being working with WWE, in past. At that point, treatment around the female talents was much different. So she was not happy around here. This is why she chose to leave the brand despite being the former women’s champion. So the above clarification confirms that there’s no chance of seeing her on Evolution match card.
