WWE News: How CM Punk Feels About Fans Chanting His Name?
CM Punk left the WWE in 2014 when he was in his prime. WWE made him one of the most prominent babyface figures on the roster before he left. His mannerism and attitude reflected the ‘Cult of Personality’ gimmick so well that he was well ‘over’ with the crowd. But same was not the condition at the backstage as he was dealing a rift for quite sometimes.
Eventually, CM Punk decided not to renew his contract and stopped performing from January 2014. His derogatory comments from Colt Cabana Podcast fuelled up controversy as Dr. Chris Amann did not hesitate to file a lawsuit. We should inform you that this has wasted thousands of dollars for both the parties. Even WWE was a key part of the lawsuit that made the relationship bitter with the ‘best in the world’.
But the charisma of CM Punk affected the WWE Universe so much that we can still feel it during shows. Whenever the fans do not find anything special to cheer for they start chanting CM Punk. It is one of the most incredible scenes that we can very often find on both WWE Raw and Smackdown Live.
So what the Straight Edge Leader himself thinks about these chants? CM Punk appeared in an interview with Associated Press and responded to this matter. He felt that it’s incredible to hear those chants even after leaving the WWE before almost five years ago. It’s powerful that the fans still love to give a shout-out with his name.
“You stop it and five years later people still talk about you? Fans still chant your name? That’s powerful to me.”
Does that mean that he is considering a comeback to wrestling for at least one more occasion? Well, he did not give any positive response to it and sent the fans back to disappointment, again, “I don’t pay attention. People seem to get upset when I say that.”
The former WWE Champion mentioned that he is happy to be around the MMA promotions. He plans to make a comeback to fights even after the two devastating losses suffered from earlier in his career. We will see what’s next will be waiting for him once 2019 kicks off,
“Since my last fight, I’ve been juggling a half-dozen things. I kind of gave myself a deadline of the beginning of the new year to find out what is coming next. I don’t rule anything out, absolutely not.”
