The Hardy Boyz made one of the most memorable returns of this decade at WrestleMania 33 in 2017 to the much delight of the WWE Universe. But as time progressed, the expectations faded away from the two veteran superstars due to several reasons. Injury is the most important issue in this perspective that has kept them away for good. Jeff Hardy has a surgically repaired knee for which he underwent the knives, earlier this year. The expected timeline for return was approximately 6-9 months following surgery to repair the damaged knee. So he should be back around November when Survivor Series will be on the horizon.
Before the injury happened, Matt and Jeff Hardy defeated The Usos (Jey & Jimmy Uso) on the post-WrestleMania 35 episode of Smackdown Live in Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Center to win the SmackDown Tag Team Titles. A few days later while working a SmackDown live event in Madison, Wisconsin, Jeff ruptured his knee and got shelved for an indefinite timespan.
