WWE News: Is WWE’s Decision Right To Split This Smackdown Team? 1

For months WWE has been nurturing the idea of introducing women’s tag team championships. This is something that can be an additional booster for the female roster. The mid-card talents will not have the fear of missing out even after not being on the prime women’s championship picture. However, we did not get these titles on the scene despite the speculations running long.

Plus, WWE has now given the indication of splitting a top contender team to carry the titles. This is another sign that there is no such planning to introduce this gold anytime soon. We are talking about Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville who took over the female roster one year ago. They debuted under the supervision of Paige under the name of Absolution. This became the most dominant faction in the entire WWE until Paige’s career came to an unexpected end.

Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville continued their stint as a tag team even after the split happened. They entered Smackdown Live to have a decent run that gradually came to an end. But we have noticed a fallout between Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville in recent times. After this week’s edition of Smackdown Live, they might be heading towards splitsville.

A WWE.com special interview aired following Smackdown where Mandy Rose commented on their one year anniversary. She was happy to speak about how they did everything together during this span as a tag team. But Sonya Deville mentioned this as a past as she can’t trust her anymore as a partner. She referred to some of the recent losses as well as how Mandy Rose eliminated her from Evolution battle royal.

Sonya Deville walked off hinting that it might be the end of their partnership. As per stillrealtous.com, these two might no longer be a tag team which could be a curse to both these women’s career. With the Wrestlemania season coming up, WWE creative team will give more focus on the behemoth names rather than young talents like Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville.

So this should mark the end of their elevation process on the Smackdown roster. Plus the fact that the tag team titles is nowhere near to get introduced can’t help the women’s division anyway. Not only the former Absolution members but also names like Asuka, Naomi, IIconics will remain absent from the big picture.
