The New Day was back on Smackdown with full force as Big E returned to competition. The muscle of the popular faction was out for eight weeks since Wrestlemania as he injured his knees. So Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods gave him a warm welcome upon the comeback to which E followed with a hilarious promo. The happy moments soon went out of the park as the heel team of Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn and Dolph Ziggler arrived on the scene.

After a verbal encounter, the tone of Smackdown main event was set as The New Day took on against Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Dolph Ziggler. Owens controlled the match delivering a senton on the floor and a moonsault off the top rope. But Kofi Kingston received the tag and forced Ziggler to accidentally hit a superkick on Zayn. The champ then followed up with a Trouble in Paradise on Zayn to end the match. He celebrated with The New Day to spread positivity all around and pick up momentums for his upcoming title match at Stomping Grounds.

Kofi Kingston has overcome the challenge thrown by Dolph Ziggler at WWE Super ShowDown with quite an ease. He went through with another successful title defense putting away the show-off with a Trouble in Paradise. However, Xavier Woods was present at ringside that appeared to be an excuse for Dolph after the match was over.

This allowed him to demand a rematch for the title as now we will have it at Stomping Grounds. This time around, there should not be any outside interferences as it’s going to be a Steel Cage Match. But before this, Kofi Kingston had the pleasure to reunite his band back together as Big E returned from an injury. WWE.com provided the update prior to Smackdown announced the main event,

“Tonight on SmackDown LIVE, it will be three-on-three, as The New Day return at full strength to take on Ziggler, Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn in a huge Six-Man Tag Team Match. Big E is back from the knee injury that put him out of action and is ready to back up the WWE Champion and Woods, while Ziggler has found allies in KO & Zayn, who have no love lost with the pancake-loving trio. Who will claim a monumental victory heading into WWE Stomping Grounds?”
