WWE News: More Indications That WWE Bringing An End To Brand Split
WWE reintroduced the brand split back in 2016. After a gap of almost four years, we got back two separate brands i.e. WWE Raw and Smackdown Live. It started a healthy competition between the two divisions that ultimately helped to improve the quality contents. Plus, Shane McMahon returning and taking over the Smackdown brand seemed a good idea for the future of WWE programming.
But the dynamic on WWE TV gets changed every now and then. At the present situation, it may be becoming tough for the officials to retain the brand split. So we should not be surprised if WWE vanquishes it in recent future. Recent reports give an indication of the same as well as the current scenarios. WWE may be preparing the groundwork already to get the brand split extinct in due course.
Bodyslam.net noted a portion of Mike Johnson from the PWInsider Elite radio to hint the same. Alexa Bliss revealed a set of Women’s Tag Team Titles on WWE Raw that did not have any brand split issue with it. All the female superstars from both WWE Raw and Smackdown will be able to compete for it including the inaugural matchup. This has to be one of the reasons why the source thought WWE would pull an end to the brand split,
“They announced that the call-ups from the NXT brand would be appearing on both RAW and SmackDown so that fans can see what they’re all about. Maybe I’m adding up 1 and 1 and getting 7, but that plus the Women’s Titles going back and forth between RAW and SmackDown and a couple of SmackDown Live events being canceled means that the walls that define the brand split are crumbling down, we will see.”
WWE possesses a number of roster namely 205 Live, two NXT brands as well as WWE Raw and Smackdown Live. This has created the biggest roster that one singles company can possibly have. Ending the brand split will allow the officials to arrange more dream matches featuring all the relevant names.
Superstars might also get more opportunities to run behind titles as they no longer have to wait for one particular brand only. Triple H also hinted the same saying from now one there could be only switched from one brand to another. This could create a variety of options on the roster to keep things fresh most of the times.
