WWE News: Potential Feud For Kurt Angle After Return On WWE Raw
Kurt Angle is still the general manager of WWE Raw on-paper. He made one last appearance acting as the authority figure on the post-Summerslam edition of WWE Raw. Stephanie McMahon sent him to a vacation from then onwards appointing Baron Corbin as the acting general manager of the show. We have seen the rise of this young superstar since then.
This also creates a natural feud between Baron Corbin and Kurt Angle in the near future. The WWE Hall of Famer will return at some point in his show to claim his position back. A rift between the two could create a full-fledged rivalry. However, additional happening on WWE Raw suggests a new opponent will be waiting for Angle upon return.
According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Kurt Angle vs. Drew McIntyre is the rivalry in the pipeline on WWE Raw. The latter name faced the former world champion in a match a few weeks ago. Utter humiliation was waiting for him as McIntyre forced him to digest a tap-out loss. He was the victim of his own pendant move of Ankle Lock.
This was just the beginning of the storyline angle between the two of them. On the December 3rd edition of WWE Raw, we received a “Drew McIntyre Appreciation Night” held by Baron Corbin. He awarded Drew with a “RAW Gold Medal” since the original “Olympic Gold Medalist” Kurt Angle no longer appears on RAW. It was a continuation of the angle.
Kurt Angle will return to the show at one point, perhaps after WWE TLC is over to seek redemption against Drew McIntyre. The Scottish Psychopath might receive his first big feud en route to Wrestlemania in the form of a legendary superstar. Additionally, wwfoldschool.com reports that it will not be a PPV feud,
“This might not turn out to be a PPV feud as TLC 2018 is the final PPV of 2018 and the first PPV of 2019 will be the Royal Rumble PPV and McIntyre will most likely be a part of the Men’s Royal Rumble match.”
However, there can be a change in planning if Drew McIntyre is set to enter the main event scene at Wrestlemania 35. He could be facing names like Braun Strowman in case the behemoth captures the Universal Championship prior to the biggest event of the year.
It can also happen that Kurt Angle vs. Drew McIntyre would take place at Wrestlemania 35. In that case, the Scotsman will continue feuding with Dolph Ziggler following the TLC PPV. If looking strong in this rivalry, he will be one of the favorites to win the Royal Rumble match 2019.
