WWE News: Reason Why WWE Ended The Undefeated Streak Of Drew McIntyre

For weeks now, WWE was teasing a break up between Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre. It was evident to happen since the get-go as the former NXT Champion is bound for a solo-push. WWE officials finally decided to pull the trigger and make it happen on the December 3rd episode of WWE Raw. Drew McIntyre was having his own appreciation night only to get interrupted by his former partner.

After a verbal altercation between the two of them, a fight ensued with Dolph Ziggler getting the upper-hand. The acting GM Baron Corbin announced a match between them, right away. The show-off got the better of Drew McIntyre courtesy of Finn Balor’s interference. He ultimately prevailed delivering a super-kick to win the match. We ought to note that it was the first loss of the Scottish Psychopath after debuting on the main roster.

Earlier this year, nobody has pinned or submitted him in televised matches. This was just to protect his strong image among the other superstars. So what was the exact reason so that WWE officials put an end to the ongoing winning streak? Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter shed some lights on this also expounding upon the future planning for the behemoth persona.

As per the veteran wrestling journalist, Dolph Ziggler picked up the win just to continue the streak for a significant amount of time. If Drew McIntyre would have picked up the win in the first match, there would have been no motive for the second match. But now we will find a focused McIntyre who would go after the former world champion. Here are the updates from the source, (courtesy stillrealtous.com)

“I think the whole thing is to set up that Drew is probably going to destroy Finn Balor. It’s an excuse to keep the Ziggler thing going with multiple matches. Because if McIntyre just beat Ziggler in the first match, there’s nothing to come back for.”

Drew McIntyre will go up against Finn Balor at the WWE TLC PPV. If this report is any indication then he will have a squash win on the babyface superstar. Thereafter, he will go on to continue the bad blood against Dolph Ziggler. This should continue for sometimes before he moves on to the main event scene in early 2019.
