WWE News: Rey Mysterio Suffers Brutal Attack On Smackdown Live
Nov 28, 2018 at 1:29 PM
Randy Orton has been targeting Rey Mysterio ever since he returned on Smackdown Live. He might have decided to revisit his days from being the ‘legend killer’. Hence, we are seeing one of the most sadistic avatars of The Viper for the past few weeks. Sadly for the Mexican Legend, he is feeling the wrath on a weekly basis. Last night was not anything different from Minnesota.
Last week, Randy Orton did something disturbing in front of the fans. He received a match against Rey Mysterio in the main event of the night. For the most part of the contest, he kept on going after the mask of the Luchador. He was able to tear it off in the left eye portion. Once the match ended in his favor, he attacked Mysterio with a chair causing the mask to fell off permanently.
The night ended with Randy Orton celebrating with the mask holding it high above his head. This mask is a sacred thing in the Lucha Libre Culture which is why most of the fans did not like the heelish way of the 13-time world champion. But he seemed least bothered person about it. He opened the night with the same mask in his hand to give us a reminder of his misdeeds from last week.
Randy Orton went on to cut a promo about the mask held in his hand. He never understood what the big deal is about this trash-piece. Ripping it off the face of Rey Mysterio gave him immense pleasure. He was happy to make the returning superstar a victim of the three most destructive letters in sports entertainment. He was going to spell RKO when the victim decided to enter.
He was wearing a neck brace which did not stop him to ensue a brawl inside the stage. Rey Mysterio came up some with punches and kicks before Randy Orton sent him into the steel steps. He ripped off the held mask entirely asking how it feels. But the high-flyer came back with some quick offenses to keep the fight on. He put the Apex Predator onto the ropes to deliver a 619.
Mysterio hit an Enziguiri to set up for a second 619 and connected it, successfully. He went to the time-keeper’s area to bring a chair into the ring. But Randy Orton cut him off and gave his pendant DDT off the ropes. He then put the chair around Rey’s neck and smashed it into the steel steps. Officials ran down to stop the attack from the Viper as Rey seemed visibly hurt. We expect more updates on his body if this turns out to be a legit injury.
