WWE News: Surprising Reason Why WWE Wants The Undertaker To Compete At Wrestlemania 35
The Undertaker has toned down his wrestling career as much as possible in the past few years. He perhaps does not have much left in the tank and hence will give more focus to non-wrestling appearances. In the middle of this, rumors are running rampant on a potential Wrestlemania match for him.
When it comes to the biggest event of the year, we still can’t imagine the show without The Undertaker. This name has been synonymous to this show where he possesses an incredible record of 24-2. No other superstar in the history of wrestling has delivered such a consistent performance like him.
Rumors are running rampant that WWE still does not have any plans for The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 35. In fact, he is also not on the Saudi Arabia match card set to take place in May. But additional reports suggest that WWE still wants him to perform at the grandest stage of them all.
Apparently, they have got a specific reason to make Undertaker appear at Wrestlemania 35. The veteran superstar has confirmed his show-up for the Starrcast II event in May. This is a show that stars like Chris Jericho, Young Bucks, and other AEW stars will participate in. So WWE wants them to understand that The Deadman still belongs to them.
A report from Wrestling Observer Newsletter gave updates stating that Undertaker is still a big draw for WWE. So they are looking forward to booking him in a match at the showcase of immortals. This way, they will also send a message to all the outside promotions that The Undertaker is a WWE product, (courtesy sportskeeda.com)
“Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Vince McMahon and co. are making a big push to have The Undertaker compete at WrestleMania 35 following the announcement that he will appear at Starrcast. This is probably a way for Vince McMahon to show that WWE is still the biggest pro wrestling promotion in the world and that no one can upstage them.”
Meanwhile, Veteran commentator Jim Ross supported the fact that WWE is not happy with Undertaker attending Starrcast II. Rumors were already out there claiming that there’re some negative vibes between McMahon and ‘Taker regarding the Starrcast appearance. The Hall of Famer supported the fact in his Jim Ross Report podcast,
“I heard it through the grapevine that The Undertaker’s decision to appear at Starrcast for Conrad Thompson has not been a popular front office decision. They’re not happy in the front office, apparently.”
