WWE News: The Miz-Shane McMahon Vs. The Bar Official At Royal Rumble For Tag Titles

Smackdown confirmed a huge championship matchup for this year’s Royal Rumble. It comes as a fresh lineup as The Miz-Shane McMahon competes in a proper tag team match in a PPV for the very first time. They will challenge The Bar for the Smackdown tag team championships at the inaugural PPV of 2019.

The Bar defended their tag team championships against The Usos on Smackdown Live. Jimmy and Jey Uso were in firm control of the match when Mandy Rose came out to provide the distraction. She is trying to get into the head of Jimmy Uso and Naomi for the past few weeks. There was no exception as Mandy came out in a towel on the ramp!

This distraction allowed Cesaro to hit the Neutralizer on him to pick up the win. The Miz came out to the ring to congratulate the champions on their victory. He also requested a tag team title opportunity at Royal Rumble from them. Sheamus hit The Miz with a Brogue Kick instead of giving an answer. They accepted the challenge when the Miz was down making the match official at Royal Rumble,

“Can The Miz & Shane McMahon stop The Bar’s championship reign and prove to the WWE Universe that they truly are the best duo in the world? Or will The Bar surprise them with a reality check? Don’t miss Royal Rumble on Sunday, Jan. 27, streaming live at 7 ET/4 PT on WWE Network!”

This is not the only match that is official to take place at Royal Rumble. A triple threat match was the main event of last night’s Smackdown. Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and Carmella competed in this contest that had a stipulation added to it. The winner would receive a championship shot against Asuka at Royal Rumble.

Becky Lynch stood out tall by the end of the night by locking in the dis-arm-her on Carmella. The princess of Staten Island tapped out to hand over the win to The Man. With that, this title match between Becky Lynch and Asuka is set on January 27th.

WWE.com confirmed the match with the following statements, thereafter,

“Becky Lynch is coming back for the crown. The Irish Lass Kicker will square off against Asuka for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at the Royal Rumble event. The Man tends to come around at the most opportune moments, but is she ready for this enormous challenge?”
