Seth Rollins appeared on WWE Raw last night to a thunderous ovation from the crowd. He looked fired up about the fresh start that the show was having under the supervision of the McMahons. The Detroit crowd deserved more on the New Year’s Eve and hence he did not back down from giving them so. So he called out Dean Ambrose for an Intercontinental Championship match. We should note that that the rematch for the IC title is due after the title changed hands on WWE TLC.
Unfortunately, Seth Rollins did not receive the rematch for the Intercontinental title on WWE Raw. But he got back his previous vicious attitude that once helped him to be in the main event scene. Triple H entered the scene on the flagship show to get a standing ovation. He informed the Kingslayer that the ‘mandatory rematch clause’ does not exist anymore. So the title match was not happening on the show.
But Triple H did acknowledge the fact that Seth Rollins carried WWE Raw on his back for the entire 2018. Roman Reigns had to take hiatus due to Leukemia whereas Brock Lesnar did not wish to step up unless he felt like so. This is where WWE needed The Architect more than anybody on the flagship show. Triple H wanted him to step into the main event scene. He wanted the ‘soulless bastard back’ onboard.
Hunter arranged a match between Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley on WWE Raw. This was just a chance to show how relentless Rollins can be against the almighty. Lio Rush cut a promo just like the true hype-man of Lashley. Seth Rollins controlled this match on WWE Raw for the most part. He connected with a springboard shoulder block before tuning up the band for the Stomp. Lio Rush distracted him allowing Lashley to hit him with a chokeslam.
An irate Rollins chased down Rush outside the ring before catching him and drop into the barricade. He took out a steel chair and hit Bobby Lashley with it to get himself disqualified. The Man looked to lose control of himself as he smashed the chair on Lashley on repeated occasions. Rush tried to come up with a fly but he dived into a chair shot. Lashley decided to leave the ring but he left Rush inside the ring. Rollins put him down with the Blackout before closing in the segment on WWE Raw. He delivered a strong message to the entire roster on the final day of 2018.
