WWE announced a world cup tournament for the Crown Jewel PPV event. Eight of the best superstars from the roster will participate in this to become a winner. We will receive the first-ever world cup champion by virtue of this series. Four superstars each from WWE Raw and Smackdown can participate in it.
We have already received two names from each side as a result of last week’s qualifying matches. John Cena was the first one to enter the fray due to accolades from his career. Kurt Angle was the second name by winning battle royal on WWE Raw. Randy Orton and Jeff Hardy were the two names from Smackdown in this world cup tournament.
Last night, WWE Raw came up with two such qualifying matches. They already made those matches official prior to the show. Dean Ambrose vs. Dolph Ziggler was the first lineup. As we all know, there were certain tensions going on around Dean Ambrose for quite sometimes. In the second match, Seth Rollins took on against Drew McIntyre to stretch their rivalry further.

This match was the first world cup tournament qualifier of the night on WWE Raw. They started by trading headlocks and continued to do the same for sometimes. Seth Rollins gave a drop-kick but went right into a big boot from McIntyre. He went for a powerbomb but Rollins countered it with a Hurricurana. He wanted to deliver a suicidal dive but McIntyre caught him.
He gave him a belly-to-belly suplex on the floor. Inside the ring, Seth Rollins countered an Inverted Alabama Slam and have a superkick to gain control. Dolph Ziggler tried to interfere but Dean Ambrose showed up to neutralize him. Rollins was able to hit The Stomp on McIntyre outside the ring and went back to the ring. This earned him a count-out win on WWE Raw to qualify for World Cup tournament.

Dean Ambrose was up next in the second qualifier against Dolph Ziggler. Ambrose hit a snapmare to start strong in the match. He also gave a snap suplex to take firm control of the match. Ziggler tried to come back with a neck breaker but Dean Ambrose hit him with a fall-away slam. Ziggler hit a flying sit-out facebuster on Ambrose.
But the Lunatic countered a snap DDT attempt and locked in a cloverleaf submission move. Ambrose further hit a double chicken-wing facebuster for a near fall. McIntyre and Rollins showed up outside the ring causing a brawl. Ziggler took full advantage and hit a superkick to get the win on WWE Raw. He has now become the sixth participant of the world cup tournament at Crown Jewel PPV.
