WWE News: Update on Shane McMahon’s Involvement At Wrestlemania 35
WWE Universe was glad to see Shane McMahon back on Smackdown Live on its 1000th episode. He was absent from TV for a long time before coming returning in the opening segment of the show. He joined a McMahon family dance party to entertain the fans to a big extent. Vince and Stephanie McMahon also joined him in this celebration.
From that point, Shane McMahon is continuously involving in storyline angles on Smackdown. He even competed in a match at the Crown Jewel PPV event to bring the world cup trophy on his brand. Although this generated sheer controversies, the coveted prize remained on the blue brand with him. Now recent reports are claiming that he is gearing up to compete in another match which might take place at the biggest event of the year.
According to Brad Shepard, SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon is under ‘high maintenance’ at backstage. This is due to the future planning around him that includes Wrestlemania. As per the source, Shane-o-Mac will compete at the biggest event of the year, once again. With names like Roman Reigns and Triple, his match would be a must-watch for the fans. The source added if Shane gets involved in something at backstage, the officials ‘roll their eyes’.
Shane McMahon made the “return of this decade” in the WWE back in 2016. It was this shocker that saved WWE programming from getting stale at that point. WWE Network subscriptions hit an all-time low when the prodigal son of the company came back to keep it alive. We should note that he also saved Wrestlemania 32, single-handedly from becoming a disaster.
Initially, it was going to be a one-off performance for the Wrestlemania season only. But his popularity kept him intact with the programming going forward. Vince McMahon made him the head of Smackdown Live that rejuvenated this brand, altogether.
There’s no wonder that the blue brigade of the company has been able to throw big challenged to the flagship show under his supervision. Since the day of the brand shift, Shane-O-Mac has always been the authority figure of the show as well as a rating booster.
