An emotional episode of WWE Raw took place on February 25th from Atlanta. The night opened with the big return of Roman Reigns who addressed his battle with Leukemia. It was good to hear that the disease has finally gone back to remission. This means that we will very soon see him competing in matches and at Wrestlemania, too.

The Shield to compete at Fastlane?

The comeback became even more special on WWE Raw via a reunion with Seth Rollins. They not only shared a hug on the opening segment but also got back together to save Dean Ambrose from a beatdown. Roman Reigns hit his pendant spear on Drew McIntyre to keep the heels off his yard and thereby ending the segment.

Update on Dean Ambrose leaving WWE

This particular moment hinted a reunion of the Shield trio which never happened. Dean Ambrose was still lying in the ring after suffering those initial beatdowns from the heels. He gave an appreciation smirk on the face to his former buddies to save him but stayed away from joining them. Apparently, there’s a reason behind it.

Reports from Sean Ross suggested that it was Dean Ambrose himself who did not want to get involved in a reunion. This is technically right considering that he is neither a heel or a babyface, fully. So going back straight to hug the Shield brethren would have seemed strange. It was basically a right call whoever took it. Here’s more from SportsKeeda.com,

“Sean Ross Sapp of Fighful revealed right after the show that Ambrose made the call to not go out to join Rollins and Reigns during the passionate segment. It’s being said that Ambrose was visibly quite emotional backstage during Reigns’ announcement, which could be the reason why he decided against joining his Shield brothers.”

Back in October 2018, Dean Ambrose took the heel-turn of the year on such an emotional night. Roman Reigns had to depart WWE on that night to start treatment against Leukemia. He stabbed in the back of Seth Rollins to transition into a villain. But that did not last long as he hinted to become a face again a couple of weeks ago.

In fact, even this past episode’s booking portrayed him as a babyface. He faced Drew McIntyre in a no-DQ match to suffer a loss via Elias’ interference. Lashley and Corbin arrived to pave the way for Reigns and Rollins to reunite. Maybe, it is a slow process for Dean Ambrose to take the full-on face-turn. It might come as we go forward to Wrestlemania season.
