There were rumors about WWE bringing back Batista for Wrestlemania. It’s no secret that he wanted to have one last match at the grandest stage of the year. In fact, he went on record for quite sometimes about willing to compete in one huge match at the biggest event of the year. It almost happened last year as WWE wanted him to tag in with Ronda Rousey.
Schedule of Batista’s new movie that might prevent him from doing Wrestlemania
But Kurt Angle ended up having the match as WWE also wanted Batista to get into the Hall of Fame club. But The Animal was willing to have a full-time stint in the WWE. All of those plans went out of the box as he pulled himself off from the Wrestlemania season. This year, the chances are back at this point in time.
Batista already resurfaced on WWE programming during the Smackdown 1000th episode on October 16th. It was a monumental occasion where Evolution faction reunited. Triple H and Batista had a confrontation to tease a future Wrestlemania 35 match. It was planting of a seed eyeing a feud prior to the biggest event of the year.
But Triple H tore his pectoral muscle on November 2nd at the Crown Jewel pay-per-view event. This might have scrapped the plans sketched by the creative team. But with multiple big names out of Wrestlemania 35, WWE may have asked the former world champion to come back, indeed.
Reports from Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet has stated that Dave Bautista is in talks with the WWE. It was primarily going to be for a one-off special appearance. But now they have contacted wanting him to compete in a match,
“According to multiple sources, the “Guardians of the Galaxy” star is deep in talks with WWE about a return on “The Grandest Stage of Them All.”
Things could have been smooth for the WWE unless for another promotion who is also in the run for Batista. None other than All Elite Wrestling promotion has also expressed their interest to sign Batista under their wings. The interesting part is that The Animal is also showed interested in their deal,
“However, we’re told he’s 50/50 on returning at this point based on how talks have gone. In addition to this, we’re told there’s been interest expressed to Dave from All Elite Wrestling and he isn’t turning them away. Our sources say he’s listening to what both companies have to offer.”
AEW has already grabbed big names like Kenny Omega or Chris Jericho from WWE’s grasps. It will be interesting to see whether they make another big blow by signing Batista in due course.
