In recent times, there have been some rumors over CM Punk potentially coming back to the WWE along with another former champion, Alberto Del Rio.
There is reportedly no truth to those speculations on WWE contacting CM Punk for a potential ring return around WrestleMania 36. WWE officials are still said to be bitter over what happened with Punk and how bitter relationship has been ever since.
Is CM Punk Coming Back To WWE Within Wrestlemania 36?
WWE officials are still very negative on the idea of ever bringing Punk back to wrestle, despite his role at WWE Backstage as an analyst on FS1.
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon thinks CM Punk is that one man he just can’t do business with. No top-level officials, including RAW Executive Director Paul Heyman, have urged him to bring back CM Punk, either.
Rumor Killer On Alberto Del Rio Possibly Returning To WWE In 2020
Agent of the former Straight Edge Society leader who was the one to reach out to FOX Sports about the Backstage gig reportedly tried to open a conversation with WWE officials a while back. But the talks were turned down as WWE did not show any real interest.
As for CM Punk analyzing WWE contents on FS1 is something that WWE allowed as a concession that should not make waves in their relationship.
Additionally, the below updates hints that CM Punk has already decreased his value as a pro-wrestler,
“It was also noted that Punk’s appearance on the show was limited to only one per month. The Observer added that some who would argue that a one-time Punk appearance at WrestleMania would be good for business were told that Punk devalued himself when his big wrestling comeback on WWE Backstage didn’t help the ratings at all, even after the first week.”
Recently, Alberto Del Rio also claimed that he might return to the WWE for one last gig which may not happen, ever. The Mexican Aristocrat was categorized, with CM Punk in the same category with whom Vince McMahon really doesn’t want to do business with.
It was the multi-time champion himself who talked about a potential return while doing a media interview in Mexico, but WWE sources denied the report. Notably, Triple H or anyone else in the company had not reached out to Alberto as the Observer stated WWE has no interest in using him.
