The Undertaker Vs. AJ Styles Reportedly Happening At WWE Wrestlemania 36

When it comes to associating Hollywood with the WWE context, there’s no one bigger than The Rock who could represent both the brands. WWE has been hell-bent on booking him in a dream match for the biggest event of the year for several years now. But the Rock’s filming schedule has always kept him unavailable to come back to in-ring competition for more than six years now.

Revealed: How Stephanie McMahon Changed WWE History At Wrestlemania 21

Slice Wrestling reported that ‪WWE is making plans early for next year’s WrestleMania 37 and The Rock is being discussed as the headliner. He is reportedly gearing up to face either Brock Lesnar or Roman Reigns. ‬Both the match are money matches and Vince McMahon is dying to book both of them, as early as possible. But only time will tell whether he gets to bring The Brahma Bull back into the WWE scene, again.

The Rock and Brock Lesnar had a match at SummerSlam in 2002. As noted by the source, this time around, both stars are much more ‘famous and the mainstream media attention this match would bring in 2021 would be outstanding.’ With Hollywood in the backdrop, WrestleMania 37 seems a perfect place to see this match happening.

As for Roman Reigns competing against The Rock, Slice has the following reason to offer,

“This is another match WWE had tried booking but outside commitments have always interfered. The story WWE would tell would be cousin vs cousin, and would be a personal storyline compared to the headliner blockbuster match against Brock. Vince McMahon would want The Rock’s mainstream media fame to help boost the career of Roman Reigns.”

So in the current context, WWE’s priority remains to book any one of these two matches, at the earliest while building up WrestleMania 37. If The Rock still remains unavailable then the company may want to use him in a non-wrestling capacity. WWE could also try to induct The Rock into the WWE Hall Of Fame during WrestleMania 37 weekend as this would also grab attention.
