WWE Raw Preview (14/01/19): Triple Threat Intercontinental Title Match, Ronda Rousey-Sasha Banks Team Up
The McMahon family seems desperate to deliver some fresh matchups on WWE Raw with limited options available. Royal Rumble is less than two weeks away from us where we can expect bigger things in-store on the show for now. So we will have a solid title bout on this week’s edition as the headliner. It will be a triple threat bout among Dean Ambrose, Bobby Lashley, and Seth Rollins over the Intercontinental Championship.
Royal Rumble match will shape up as we will surely get some more names for the prestigious battle royal from the flagship show. John Cena is still advertised to appear on the show which is a bonus attraction for the fans. We will get to know the future of the tag team titles as well as see Ronda Rousey and Sasha Banks teaming up for the first time. Tonight’s packed episode takes place from the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee.
Things broke loose as we went off the air from last week’s WWE Raw. It was the first episode of 2019 where Seth Rollins competed in a six-man tag team match in the opening contest. He pinned Dean Ambrose to earn an Intercontinental championship opportunity. Triple H sanctioned that main event under No-DQ Falls Count Anywhere rules. Bobby Lashley attacked Rollins running the day for Seth Rollins.
Seeing things unfair, the McMahons family has confirmed the triple threat Intercontinental Championship match on WWE Raw,
“This coming Monday on Raw, Rollins will once again have a chance to reclaim Team Red’s workhorse title, but he’ll need to battle both Ambrose and Lashley in a Triple Threat Match. Who will walk into the WWE Royal Rumble event as Intercontinental Champion?”
The Architect is getting another opportunity to regain his Intercontinental Championship. But this is not a perfect time for him to pick up this mid-card title, once more and go back to the mid-card title picture. It is likely that he would try to go after Bobby Lashley to seek redemption from last week. Dean Ambrose will take advantage of this by winning the triple threat and retaining.
Another main event match is now official to take place on WWE Raw. Ronda Rousey will team up with Sasha Banks to take on against Nia Jax and Tamina. The team of the former UFC superstars and the Legit Boss seemed favorite to come up as the winner in this match. But they are up for a title bout at Royal Rumble against one another. So the question remains whether they could get along well in this match. Only this can give the upper hand to the heels superstars.
WWE Raw tag team championships were on the line, last week. The team of Bobby Roode and Chad Gable retained the titles by defeating The Revival. But the pinfall win did not come in a fair way. Dawson’s feet were clearly on the ropes while the referee was counting. This should set up another rematch between the two of them. Things being unfair for the Revival is handing away sympathy towards them. This could uplift their status as they look forward to becoming the new champs.
The ongoing rivalry between Elias and Baron Corbin will continue as we move forward to Royal Rumble. Both of them have entered the Royal Rumble match and will look to gain some momentums. Meanwhile, there will be some more names who would like to throw their names into the mix. John Cena declared his entry into the match last week whom we expect to see on tonight’s WWE Raw, as well. This could deliver another fresh segment featuring the franchise player.
