WWE has confirmed the next PPV event on the WWE Network in the form of Extreme Rules 2020 that will air on July 19. This is going to be the third pay-per-view following Wrestlemania 36 and the final one before the biggest event of the summer, Summerslam 2020 in August.
As revealed by WWE on the social media, Extreme Rules 2020 will have a new look and logo this year that is pretty different from the original design. The former logo used to be in a combination of red and yellow whereas the newer one arrived in a purple and yellow shade.
Extreme Rules was originally announced to take place at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, all the way back in February. It was the only confirmed PPV show for the summer except for Summerslam, prior to Wrestlemania 36. But amid the COVID-19 situation, the venue is likely to be changed. The event is now expected to take go down from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
Most of the matches at the recently bygone PPVs, Wrestlemania, Money in the Bank and Backlash 2020 took place in the same arena which is WWE’s own property. Unless the company can arrange a different capacity in this coronavirus pandemic, the shows are unlikely to go out of the PC, and hence Extreme Rules will also be carried out under the same circumstances.
Speaking of Extreme Rules, it is one of the most favorite gimmick-based PPV events of the WWE Universe. It is one night of the year where most of the matches take place under different stipulations bringing more excitements for the fans. The buildups for the PPV event will begin from this week’s episodes of WWE Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown.
