Ronda Rousey injured at Wrestlemania 35

Why Roman Reigns missed Raw after Mania

She pinned Ronda Rousey in a strange manner to end the match which many believe was not the original finish of the contest. The former champion was not the one billed to suffer the pinfall loss. But a potential injury happened to her causing the botch during the end. After this, Ronda Rousey walked away from WWE programming for an indefinite time span.

Many of the reports indicated that Ronda Rousey was unhappy about how her final match in the WWE played out to be. But these are all unconfirmed news as the company may have done the finish intentionally eyeing the future. This automatically leads us to a rematch between the current and former champion in a bigger PPV in the WWE calendar.

Dave Meltzer explained the same on Wrestling Observer Radio mentioning that WWE has Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch is in the pipeline. This is why the new Raw and Smackdown women’s champion has cut a promo on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw that had Rousey in it. She issued an open challenge to her predecessor for a title match.

Well, Ronda Rousey was not present to accept it. But that does not mean we can’t see it in the near future. Here’s more from the veteran wrestling journalist,

“The end of that match is for the hope of a Ronda Rousey vs Becky Lynch match. It’s not planned, there’s no time for it. Becky Lynch kinda did her promos on her she didn’t move on from Ronda, Ronda was definitely in the promos.”

Slice Wrestling has already hinted that bigger PPV events like Summerslam or Royal Rumble will mark his comeback. Hence this match may be in-store to headline anyone of those shows. We should also mention that despite the bad blood between Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch, they never competed in a solo contest. So the fans will not mind seeing the rivalry to continue from where these two have left off.
