WWE crowned new Smackdown tag team champions on last night’s show from Louisville, Kentucky. In a surprise set of affairs, Daniel Bryan made his way back to the show. It was his first-time appearance following the Wrestlemania 35 loss against Kofi Kingston. He could have complained about the travesty that happened on April 7th. However, Shane McMahon did not want to give him that chance as he handed a straight-up title opportunity.

Daniel Bryan and Rowan faced Jimmy and Jey Uso for the Smackdown tag team championships, thereafter. Despite the early momentums, The Usos failed to deliver the splashes off the top ropes. Daniel Bryan delivered the YES Kick on Jimmy and pushed Jey into the big Rowan. He planted Jey with an Iron Claw Chokeslam to the mat to get the pinfall win. This earned Daniel Bryan and Rowan to become the new Smackdown tag team championships.

As we have seen in the past, Daniel Bryan was the eco-friendly champion on Smackdown. Hence, he wanted a new strap for the prestigious belt just after winning the title in November 2018. The following month he introduced the new versions of the belts made of jute. He may be thinking of doing the same with tag team belts, as well.

Once Smackdown went off the air, the photographers asked Daniel Bryan and Rowan to pose with their championships belts. The former WWE Champion seemed angry with this and promised to get rid of these belts by next week. In addition, he uttered the following statements,

“Did you realize that you’re going to have to change and redo all these pictures once we get rid of these leather championship straps. You do realize that don’t you?”

Speaking of next week, Smackdown tag team champions already have a target in their back as seen on the show. The Heavy Machinery shared a backstage moment with Daniel Bryan and Rowan hinting that these two are heading into a feud. It’ll be interesting to see how they or the other tag team division members react if the champs reveal a new belt on the show.
