If WWE’s push towards the women superstars remain intact then we are likely to get a big Wrestlemania main event. This will be first of its kind since the women superstars will feature in it. This will be the first time ever that the female superstars will be the center of attention at a big stage like ‘Mania. With Roman Reigns away from the WWE, we are most likely to see this one happening.
Ronda Rousey is the locked name in this spot being the biggest attraction of the female roster. Plus, WWE is keeping her as the WWE Raw women’s champion, eyeing the same reason. As per the current storyline, either one of Charlotte Flair or Becky Lynch will be her opponent. It can very well turn out to be a triple threat match, as well.
As per the reports of No Holds Barred podcast, Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch is in the making for Wrestlemania 35. It should happen since the match did not happen at Survivor Series. Plus, WWE will bring some added attraction when the match finally happens. The same source disclosed that former UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and current UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier will get involved in this bout.
Apparently, they will feature in a ‘non-wrestling’ capacity which might go as follows, (courtesy wwfdoldschool.com)
“The rumor states that Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch will take place at WrestleMania 35, with Cormier being in Rousey’s corner and McGregor being in Lynch’s corner. If this is indeed true, then it would make big-time sense since this could be the first-ever women’s WrestleMania main event.”
WWE will get multiple benefits by bringing these two UFC superstars at Wrestlemania. The company will not have Roman Reigns where the main event remains in safe hands. So the appearance of Daniel Cormier and Conor McGregor will assure that there will be additional star powers during the main event contest.
These two are the biggest draws in combat sports today that will force the audience to tune in to the show. Cormier and McGregor heading into the WWE have been a wild rumor for a long time. This might be the best capacity where WWE can use these two names to fill up the MetLife Stadium in New York, New Jersey.
The storyline will also help to build this match. Becky Lynch has already started an altercation with Conor McGregor to hint an involvement at Wrestlemania. Plus it will start cross-brand promotions for Smackdown which moves to FOX Sports in 2019. The aforementioned planning is just speculation at this point. Hopefully, WWE officials can pull this off in a big way to give us an exceptional main event.
