Smackdown Live is just more than a week away from celebrating the 1000th episode. Hype ups for this special episode will be the focus for the creative team at this point. Plus, the storyline angles will also move forward to the two consecutive PPV events waiting at the fall of this year. This is why we received multiple big announcements on this week’s show. The main event will feature a championship match between Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair.
Also, the World Cup tournament will continue on Smackdown now that we know the first two names in it. Two former champions, Big Show and Jeff Hardy will return to participate in these matches. Also, there will be a special edition of The Miz TV where the WWE Champion and the new contender will appear. So this should be a jam-packed show from the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The marquee match of the night will see the Smackdown women’s championship hanging on the balance. Becky Lynch intentionally disqualified herself during the Super Show Down battle against Charlotte Flair. So she received an additional stipulation for tonight’s match. Check out the statements from WWE.com,
“SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair’s title match at WWE Super Show-Down did not end without controversy on Saturday when Lynch intentionally got herself disqualified against The Queen in order to hold onto the gold. Well, that will not be an option for her this Tuesday night when the two rematch in a contest where if The Irish Lass Kicker gets DQ’ed she will lose the title.”
Becky Lynch is currently ruling the Smackdown women’s division. Despite the heel antics, fans are supporting her to the fullest. So there’s no way that she is losing the title, all of a sudden. The added stipulation will just raise the hypes of the championship match. Charlotte Flair should come up short to move away from the championship picture. Thereafter, a dream opponent would wait for her at the Evolution PPV.
The first match of World Cup tournament qualifier on Smackdown Live will feature Big Show vs. Randy Orton. The Giant is returning after more than a year to take a chance to go into the Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia. Tye Dillinger, the current rival of Randy Orton should be the one cost The Viper this World cup tournament opportunity. Big Show should take advantage of this to move on to the global PPV event.
The other match for World Cup tournament qualifier will feature Jeff Hardy against Samoa Joe. We have not seen younger Hardy on Smackdown since Hell in a Cell. Considering his popularity, it might be certain that he is the favorite to go into the Crown Jewel PPV. Samoa Joe failed to win the WWE Championship at Super Show Down. He might fail once again to go into Crown Jewel.
Lastly, The Miz will return with his special show of Miz TV. The WWE Champion, AJ Styles, and the contender, Daniel Bryan will be his guests in this episode of Smackdown Live. It is likely that Miz will bring the topic of getting robbed at Super Show Down after Bryan picked up the win with a quick roll-up. So he would try to insert himself into the WWE Championship opportunity at Crown Jewel PPV.
