A packed edition of WWE SmackDown is expected tonight on FOX as the blue brand looks forward to building some hypes around Extreme Rules. After some major announcements from the red brand, this past Monday, perhaps a couple of more matches could be added to the pay-per-view. Additionally, a stacked lineup already awaits for the show, itself.

SmackDown tag team championships will be on the line as The New Day defends against Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura. Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross will renew their rivalry with Sasha Banks and Bayley in a rematch.

Also, Jeff Hardy is set for yet another perhaps controversial segment when he appears on The Miz TV. All of these and more are expected when Friday’s hottest show airs from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

Last week, Jeff Hardy stood tall to bring an end to SmackDown in a big way when he resisted himself from drinking in the bar setup presented by Sheamus. As the rivalry continues eyeing a match at Extreme Rules, WWE is likely to put the veteran superstar through more tests as he now faces The Miz on his talk-show.

Some trash-talking will definitely be waiting for the guest where we also expect the presence of the Celtic Warrior to set up his next bout against Hardy.

The King of Strong Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura scored a pinfall victory over Kofi Kingston after Big E and Cesaro were ejected from ringside. For weeks, the heel antics of Nakamura and Cesaro worked in their favor as they now go into the tag team title hunt. Could the self-proclaimed underestimated talents derail the decorated tag champs? We’ll have to find out on SmackDown.

The Role Models (Sasha Banks and Bayley) have been dominating both Raw and SmackDown, as of late but their old rivals aren’t ready to accept it. As tensions remain an all-time high, the women’s tag champs will now face Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross in a non-title clash on SmackDown. Cross has a title shot against Bayley at Extreme Rules and she’d try to get this win to keep momentums by her side.

It’s been a journey for Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt that is taking them back to the Swamp at Extreme Rules. Before they compete in the cinematic bout, WWE Universe will get to experience a special presentation of the Universal Championship Match from WWE Money in the Bank where Wyatt wanted to get back the Universal Title from Strowman bit failed.

AJ Styles experienced a bump on the road while beginning his journey as the Intercontinental Champion on SmackDown as he suffered a pinfall loss against Matt Riddle. But he bounced back with dominance by beating Drew Gulak for the title, last week.

But probably, he will be waiting for another title match ahead of him as he moves on to Extreme Rules. The belief if that Riddle’s non-title victory over Styles would set up a Title Match at the mentioned PPV and the match should be confirmed on tonight’s episode.
