WWE is promoting this week’s episode of SmackDown as a one-off show to take place on FS1 instead of FOX due to the MLB coverage. Meanwhile, it marks the final time that the blue brand airs a show before WWE Crown Jewel set in Saudi Arabia.

Bad news on FOX airing SmackDown

So there will be major hype-ups for the upcoming PPV on tonight’s show. WWE has already confirmed the headliner segment as well as multiple matches for as they want to pull up the viewership by all means.

Cain Velasquez and Brock Lesnar will be under one roof before their clash at Crown Jewel for a confrontation segment. The team members for Team Ric Flair and Team Hulk Hogan will be present on the show through Miz TV alongside the team coaches.

5 names who’d miss Crown Jewel

Two big matches will take place on the show where Nikki Cross takes on Mandy Rose and The New Day competes against for Raw tag team champions. These and more will be on SmackDown that takes place at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

As mentioned earlier, a mega confrontation will be the headliner of tonight’s episode. Just six nights before their showdown for the WWE Title Match at Crown Jewel, Brock Lesnar, and Cain Velasquez will be under the same roof on SmackDown.

Spoiler from Lesnar vs. Velasquez

Paul Heyman and Rey Mysterio will accompany their respective clients to the ring in a meeting that should get out of hands. Considering the history of these two former UFC heavyweights, they are not likely to consist of themselves within just verbal encounters. So we expect a huge fight to break out on the show.

A special edition of Miz TV is official for SmackDown that will hype up the tag team match set for WWE Crown Jewel. Legendary Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan will be appearing with their respective team members from the blue brand.

Hogan’s team captain Roman Reigns, as well as Shorty G and Ali, will join him whereas Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura and King Corbin will be appearing by the side of Ric Flair. Verbal wars will go down during this segment that may produce a tag team contest to give us a preview of things to come on October 31st.

Why team Flair vs. Team Hogan is happening?

The New Day will take on former tag team champions Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode ahead of largest Tag Team Turmoil Match at Crown Jewel. We should note that Xavier Woods can’t compete at this point due to his Achilles injury.

Hence, Kofi Kingston and Big E will be in action against one of the newest tag teams on the SmackDown roster. Whichever team picks up the win will have momentums on their side heading into the historic contest in Saudi Arabia.

Another big match set for SmackDown will feature the current number one contender for the women’s championship, Nikki Cross against Mandy Rose. Here’s a short preview of things to expect during the contest, courtesy of WWE.com,

“Nikki Cross is on the rise, but Mandy Rose wants to let the WWE Universe know that she is the one who truly reigns supreme over the SmackDown Women’s division. The Golden Goddess won’t be standing alone, as Sonya Deville will be ringside in support of her Fire & Desire teammate.”

At this point, Cross is looking forward to gaining some momentums on her side before challenging Bayley for the SmackDown women’s championship. Hence, there are the least doubts about her picking up the win.
