Tournament Finale for the Vacant WWE Intercontinental Title was next on SmackDown with the lineup being Daniel Bryan vs. AJ Styles. Bryan was in control by releasing German Suplexes and applying the YES Lock. AJ got rid of it as Bryan tried to connect with the YES Kick. But Styles countered with the Styles Clash and then delivered the Phenomenal Forearm on Bryan to secure the win and become new Intercontinental Champion.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Sasha Banks and SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley came out to throw a celebration for their title win from last week. Their celebration was ruined by Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross. The IIconics also interfered by appearing on the big screen to hype the triple threat title match at Backlash. Bliss and Cross then shoved the champions off the ring to stand tall.

Braun Strowman and Heavy Machinery vs. The Miz, John Morrison, and Dolph Ziggler was the final match of this week’s SmackDown. Otis got the hot tag who put away Miz and Morrison with big clotheslines. Then he put down Ziggler with a Headbutt. Outside the ring, Strowman ran over the heels as Otis hit the Caterpillar Elbow on Ziggler to secure the win. Strowman posed with the Universal Title whereas Otis raised his Money In The Bank briefcase as SmackDown went off the air.
