WWE: Twitter Reactions from this Week’s Smackdown Live: June 5, 2018
Jun 7, 2018 at 6:39 PM
The opening segment of Smackdown Live was a little bit different from other weeks.
We witnessed the women’s champion kicking it off. She continues to get better with the mic. It is going to help her certainly in the long run in the women’s division. Mandy Rose is the other one who continuously keeps on getting better by each week.
Asuka picked up the win in the opening contest of Smackdown Live. But Carmella was still able to stand tall at the end. We could have barely imagined her to get such momentums against a former streak-holder like Asuka.
Carmella has gotten so much better on the microphone. She just seems more comfortable and the same goes for Mandy Rose. In any case, a handicap match as the opener tonight. Let’s see how this one goes but I’d say Asuka gets the win. #SDLive

We keep on wondering why WWE arranged that contract signing at the backstage area. It could have been much better with both these superstars standing in the ring.
Paige is suffering from a broken neck should be the potential reason. The officials did not want to ensure chaos inside the ring between them due to Paige’s presence. But it was not bad overall with Nakamura’s heel antics entertaining us.
A fun little mixed tag team match. Loved Aiden telling Jimmy “You can’t do that” after he got hit in the throat.
As for the contract signing, not sure why they didn’t do that in the ring. Very short backstage segment but that’s over with. #SDLive

Smackdown delivered three matches featuring women superstars on one singles night. It was one of those rarer occasions in TV episodes where women superstars get priority.
It delivered a unique for the show indeed. The third match between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch lived up to the expectations. The first-ever Smackdown Women’s Champion won the match with a clean pin which was surprising.
We did not expect her to be the winner against The Queen in a clean manner. It might be an indication of better things coming up for her in the future.
A fun main event but I don’t think I saw Rusev as the legal man in the ring (unless it was during the commercial break). I did like the ending with Rusev and Joe turning on The Miz and makes sense to have The New Day win. #SDLive

The main event of the show was an average one. It surely did not have any big capacity added to it.
So The New Day continued to bring fun elements to it. Rusev and Samoa Joe avoided the loss by walking out of the match. It allowed The Miz to continue putting over The Unicorns on a regular basis.
Nothing great about this #SDLive but nothing bad about it either. I’d give this one a thumbs in the middle. Lots of talking tonight which made sense to build up Money in the Bank but it just felt like it was missing something.

It was not a bad show of Smackdown overall. Once again the blue brand delivered better than Raw. Check out the Twitter reactions from it,

Paige’s first contract signing as Smackdown GM is done backstage, with minimal shenanigans and no one got put through a table.
