Now, it will take place at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. At one point, postponing the show was going to be the only option. However, the good news is WWE already has a back-up plan.

The officials of the city of Tampa, Florida had a meeting scheduled last week to determine whether they are canceling major events in the city including the 36th edition of WrestleMania.

The rescheduling news was not received back then but they could pull the plug, anytime. Even they have also notified saying if WWE does not make an announcement then they are going to do the call-off, pretty soon.

So the inevitable was that for the first time ever the ‘show of shows’ won’t be hosted in the Autumn season as the backup date could cause a long-term delay. Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT reported that WWE’s previous contingency plan for WrestleMania was to hold the show in either June or July.

This would push back the biggest event to the summer leaving everyone to wonder what they will be producing in the meantime.

It remained a big question for sure as the ongoing storylines can’t be stretched up to Summer 2020, for sure. They also have other PPV shows scheduled leading up to the summer which would have been in jeopardy if WrestleMania 36 gets postponed for almost three months. But the source did not see the event happening, sooner,

“June/July is one of WWE’s contingency plans I believe. With the European travel ban, number of events shutting down and even the NBA season outright suspended… I can’t see how WWE can run ‘Mania now.

Things have changed drastically in the past 48 hours with the coronavirus.”

As noted earlier, the Coronavirus has created a pandemic situation all over the world causing cancellation in all sorts of sports. Seasons of Vince McMahon owned XFL have also been entirely withdrawn which could be a big blow to the billionaire, already.

This is why he might have thought twice to cancel WrestleMania 36. However, people’s safety comes first at this point and he had to make the hardest decision. So for the first WrestleMania takes place without any crowd in a closed-door affair.
