Jose Mourinho Joins AS Roma As The New Manager

AS Roma has appointed the veteran football manager Jose Mourinho as their new boss. Mourinho who was in charge of Tottenham Hotspurs had been sacked last month and was jobless since then.

AS Roma after their humiliating defeat against Manchester United in the Europa League semi final sacked their previous manager Paolo Fonseca ending his two year spell.

Jose Mourinho Joins AS Roma As The New Manager

Roma was going through a really bad time, and after losing 6-2 to the Premier League giants Manchester United, they did not hesitate to sack the Portuguese manager.

This is going to be the second spell in Italian Football for the two times UEFA Champions League winner Jose Mourinho. Previously, he worked as the manager of Inter Milan and in a small two year run he won five titles including two Serie A titles and one Champions League before he was hired by Real Madrid.

A number of people are questioning about Roma’s decision to sign Mourinho as their new boss by looking at his current stats. But since he has been in the Premier League for quite a while and looking at the recent competition level at England, he did not get enough time anywhere either.

Serie A is currently not offering enough competition as Premier League so it should not be very difficult for the former three times Premier League winner.

Roma fans are quite excited to see Jose Mourinho as their new manager. Roma could not find the level of success after losing out on players like Mohamed Salah, Alisson Becker, Kostas Manolas etc. Fans and owners are expecting their club to have great success under Mourinho.

We hope this is an amazing time for Jose Mourinho to prove all his critics wrong. In Roma he can get the time he needs to get the ultimate success and we very much believe he still can do what he does best.

Breaking: Jose Mourinho Sacked By Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspurs sacked their manager Jose Mourinho today as per reports. Some recent failures like in the UEFA Europa League and weak performance in the Premier League would have caused the sack, as it is understood.

There are no official report or data has been by the club, however, many reliable sources from all over Europe has made the report.

Breaking: Jose Mourinho Sacked By Tottenham

Spurs are only six days away from facing the current league leader Manchester City for the EFL Cup final and sacking their manager at this moment of the situation raises a lot of questions.

Spurs could not meet much success in any competition under the reign of Jose Mourinho. Even though his reign was short-lived, it seems the English side did not have enough time in their hands to slowly pull themselves up to the ultimate success.

Jose signed for Spurs during last season, with a small transfer amount, and whatever circumstances he had, Spurs finished 6th in the league table.

Fans were expecting to see a better performance from Jose Mourinho’s Spurs this season, but not much improvement was seen this season either. The English Giants are currently stuck in the 7th position with only 50 points in 32 matches. Of course, this is not promising enough to finish the top 4 this season.

Even on the UEFA Europa League, Spurs faced a shocking exit the previous week. They had a 2-0 advantage over the Croatian Dinamo Zagreb from the first leg, which they completely handed over to their opponents by losing the second leg by a 3-0 margin.

There is a rumor going all around on the world of football that Mourinho was sacked, but he himself chose to part ways with the English side after getting to know of their intention to participate in the European Super League.

Most of the world of football is showing their disappointments openly after the news of the European Super League broke. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp also sounded very disappointed after hearing the news, it is rumored that Klopp does not want to stay at Liverpool either after the news.

After Mourinho’s departure, there is no news or rumor on who could replace him as the new manager of Tottenham Hotspurs. And there is no news on where could the Portuguese manager go. We hope wherever he goes he will do what he does best again.

Mauricio Pochettino Glad About Jose Mourinho Replacing Him At Tottenham Hotspur

Former Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochettino has said that he is happy with the fact that Jose Mourinho went on to replace him at the club. Mauricio Pochettino had the opportunity to be the manager of Tottenham for five and a half years and was replaced by Mourinho in November last year.

It was under Pochettino that Tottenham Hotspur qualified for the final of the prestigious UEFA Champions League final. Although they lost the final to Liverpool, Hotspur had a dream run until the final, especially the way in which they turned around things in the semi-final against Ajax.

Potchettino recalled how he and Jose Mourinho had forged a close relationship during their days as rivals in Spain’s La Liga.

“He’s a top coach. And in life, look what happens. I always think I’d replace him. He was at Real Madrid. I say, ‘Oh, maybe one day I can take your place at Real Madrid’, and look at how life works out! He has taken my place at Tottenham. Unbelievable, eh?” Pochettino said jokingly.

UEFA Champions League 2018: Lacklustre Manchester United Held At Home By Valencia

Valencia piled more misery on Jose Mourinho by walking away from Old Trafford with a point following a drab goalless stalemate with Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League. The draws extended Manchester United’s winless run at home to four games.

Under-fire Mourinho would have expected more from his team after back-to-back defeats against Derby and West Ham. However, the Red Devils rarely looked threatening. Barring Marcus Rashford’s free-kick that hit the crossbar, United did not create any clear cut chance. In fact, it was Valencia who controlled the game and threatened the home side on break.

United’s evening got off to a forgettable start. Mourinho’s men were caught in heavy traffic around Old Trafford before the game which led to a five-minute delay to the kick-off. And the players did little to make amends for it as the frustrated Old Trafford crowd booed them off after the referee blew the full-time whistle.

United are now without a win at Old Trafford in all competitions since the opening day of the season against Leicester.

The English outfit could not test goalkeeper Neto until the hour mark. United showed some urgency only in the dying minutes but Valencia managed to see off the late surge to hold on to an important draw.

With five minutes remaining, Anthony Martial was tripped just outside the area by Cristiano Piccini. Rashford hit the bar with the resulting free-kick from an acute angle. Shortly after, Romelu Lukaku had an excellent chance from a Luke Shaw corner. However, the Belgian couldn’t even get his header on target.

Prior to that, United enjoyed a dominating spell midway through the second-half.

For the first, Paul Pogba took a free-kick after Alexis Sanchez had been pushed over. The French World Cup-winner managed to evade the wall only to see his shot tipped round the far post.

Draw aside, United remain in a strong position to qualify from Group H. However, the latest performance will further worry Mourinho.

Pogba Will Be Gone In January – Paul Ince

With Paul Pogba in the headlines week in and out, former Manchester United midfielder Paul Ince feels the midfielder’s time at Old Trafford is over.

Pogba is living a controversial life at Manchester United at the moment.

Along with Manchester United, Pogba’s season has started off not too well. And his relationship with manager Jose Mourinho seems to get worse day by day.

After coming back to his old club from Juventus with a record £89 million deal, big things were expected from the World Cup winner Pogba. But he couldn’t live up to the expectations of the fans at Old Trafford and has often been heavily criticised for his poor performances.

Meanwhile, Paul feels Pogba wants to join the Spanish club Barcelona and the club should get rid of him if he really wants to move out.

Paul told Paddy Power:

“If this was happening under Sir Alex, he’d have said one thing; ‘He’s going. Get rid of him now.’ Because there’s no chance he’d allow his team to become a joke because of Paul Pogba’s behaviour. I think his fate is completely sealed and he’ll be gone in January. There’s talk of Mourinho going before him. But I’d be disgraced if Ed Woodward allowed that to happen.”

The former midfielder also believes its time for United President Ed Woodward to step up and back the manager.

“If you do that, you’re essentially allowing a player to become bigger than the manager and the rest of his team. It’s time for Woodward to step up and back Jose. If he tells him that he’s upsetting the dressing room and still not playing at the level he should be, then he needs to back the manager and let him go. Pogba has caused far more trouble than he has good since returning to Man United.”

United are currently 7th in the table in Premier League with only 3 wins in their 6 matches.

Watch: Paul Pogba And Jose Mourinho In Stunning Bust-Up At Manchester United Training Ground

It looks like the relation between Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba has hit the rock-bottom. That the Manchester United manager and midfielder are not on amicable terms is not a secret anymore. And a recent footage showing Pogba giving Mourinho a stare in the training ground is enough to prove that the relationship is deteriorating with each passing day.

On Tuesday, Mourinho punished Pogba by stripping him of his vice-captaincy following his outburst in the 1-1 draw at home to Wolves. The tension at the club further elevated following the dismal Carabao Cup defeat to Derby, in which the 25-year-old watched from the stands.

And on Wednesday, Pogba and Mourinho showed that their relationship is in turmoil. In the video, Pogba could be seen running over to the management team and shakes hands with Michael Carrick. He then approached Mourinho and a United press officer who he also shakes hands with.

But the 55-year-old gave the World Cup-winner the cold shoulder and instead muttered something in his direction. And Pogba was having none of it as he gave his manager a long cold stare.

The pair were then seen exchanging words in a heated conversation before the manager called over the club press officer. Allen then spoke both the men before Pogba marched off nodding his head.

The France international, meanwhile, is heavily linked with a move to Barcelona. And the way things are turning out at the club, it would not be a surprise if he pushes his way out of Old Trafford this winter.

The latest defeat, nonetheless, has further deepened crisis at the club. Just three wins in their opening six matches has already left them 18 points behind rivals Liverpool.

Pep Guardiola is the Only Person Who Should be at Manchester United – Eric Cantona Takes a Dig at Jose Mourinho

Former Manchester United skipper, Eric Cantona wants the Reds to play creative football and believes City’s boss, Pep Guardiola is the right man for the club and not Jose Mourinho.

Cantona wants Pep Guardiola at Manchester United

Cantona often comes out and talks about Manchester United’s reason of failures and after a terrible start to the new season, he believes United lacks creative play. He told Manchester United’s official website,

“Listen. I joke about Manchester City, but they are playing great football. “It’s just that I think Guardiola should be at United. He is the spiritual child of Johan Cruyff. He played under Cruyff at Barcelona and learned everything from him. He’s the only person who should be at United.”

However, Cantona won four Premier League titles at Old Trafford during the 1990s, and he believes he has what it takes to become the manager of the club at Old Trafford,

“Well, except for me. I would like to coach. If they called me, I would go; I would enjoy it. They know where I am. Then we would play creative football once again. It would be great for the fans like it was with Alex Ferguson — he allowed players to be creative, treated them as individuals. We all felt special with him. All felt loved. He was always praising. A good man. A good leader.”

Jose Mourinho doesn’t deserve to be Manchester United’s manager, Eric Cantona.

Manchester United are now at 10th in the Premier League table with only two wins in four matches. They also suffered an embarrassing 3-0 defeat against Tottenham before the international break.

Since last season, Jose Mourinho is facing criticism despite guiding United to 2nd position. However, there was 19 points gap with the Premier League champions, Manchester City.

However, after the international break, Jose Mourinho’s men will face Watford on 15th September.

Jose Mourinho Handed One Year Prison Sentence Including €2m Fine

Time is not going too well for the Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho. With only 2 wins in 4 matches, Mourinho’s men are at the 10th of the table. Meanwhile, Mourinho has got himself into more trouble. The manager has accepted a one-year suspended jail sentence after being accused of defrauding the Spanish Tax Office of €3.3million (£2.9m) of earnings while in charge at Real Madrid.

Mourinho handed prison sentence and fine due to Spanish tax issues.

Mourinho spent three years at Real Madrid. He was accused of using offshore company accounts in Ireland, the British Virgin Islands and New Zealand to conceal income from image rights in 2011. And according to El Mundo, the former Madrid manager has reached a deal with tax authorities, with two six-month suspended prison sentences.

However, Mourinho will not be spending time in prison. According to Spanish law, a sentence of under two years for a first offence can be served on probation.

After a court appearance in Pozuelo de Alarcon in 2017, Mourinho said:

“I did not answer, I did not argue. I paid and signed with the state that I am in compliance and the case is closed.”

The United manager is not the first one to be accused of tax evasion by the Spanish authorities. Top players Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi also fell into the same trouble in the past.

Ronaldo is accused of defrauding the Spanish Treasury of €14.7m (£13m/$16.6m) in taxes between 2011 and 2014 by concealing income earned from his image rights. While, Messi was found guilty of defrauding the Spanish Treasury to the tune of €4.1m (£3m/£4.6m) between 2007 and 2009.

Messi’s  21-month jail sentence changed to a fine of €252,000 by the Spanish courts. His father Jorge had to pay €180,000.

Harry Kane Hails Spurs’ Top Performance In Old Trafford Win

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane believes their 3-0 win at Old Trafford on Monday night a title warning to the rest of the Premier League.

The visitors were on top from the beginning and handed Jose Mourinho a drubbing. The league’s premier striker Kane started it all when he scored the opener in the 50th minute. After a couple of incredible seasons, Harry Kane believes Spurs have the drive to reach next level.

The club were making some huge strides over the past few years. Last year, they even toppled winners Real Madrid and German giants Borussia Dortmund to finish top of their group in Champions League. The win at Old Trafford is going to boost the confidence of the team to a whole new level.

“That’s massive, to come here and win the way we did is a big statement,” Harry Kane told Sky Sports. “We wanted to start the season well and three wins out of three is a great start.”

After Harry Kane’s initial goal, the compact Manchester United defense pushed for an equalizer, which only played into hands of Tottenham Hotspur. A second goal in 2 minutes after the first goal put an end to United’s hopes in the game. Lucas Moura scored two goals and played an important role in the game.

“That’s the only way we’ll win the league. We haven’t started well in previous years, we’ve had to play catch-up, but the top six are so strong now you have to stay with them.

“This will give us huge belief, it’s a great statement tonight. We’re trying to create our own history at Spurs. We’ve not been top of the league over the years like United, like Chelsea.”

The win meant Tottenham Hotspur continue their perfect start winning nine points out of nine.

Jose Mourinho- A shadow of his former self

Although, Mauricio Pochettino and the club decided against bringing new players, the squad looks primed for success. On the other hand, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho had gone all out on the board for giving him funds to sign new players.

But the manager is currently looking a shadow of his former self. Gone are his glory days of Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan and Real Madrid. The Portuguese tactician looked like an yesterday’s manager in the game against Spurs. After suffering the biggest home defeat in his career, the future looks uncertain for Mourinho in Manchester.

Mourinho Will Be Sacked Before Christmas – Lee Sharpe

Former Manchester United winger Lee Sharpe believes Jose Mourinho is the wrong man for the job and he will be gone before the Christmas.

Jose Mourinho’s men suffered a shock defeat against Brighton.

Things has not been going to well for Mourinho and Manchester United. After failing to make any big signing in the summer transfer window, they suffered a 3-2 defeat against Brighton in their second league game.

Mourinho was able to help United to bring three trophies in his debut campaign. But things started to fall apart when he ended the 2017-18 season as trophy less. And a frustrating transfer market made it even worse for the Portuguese man.

Meanwhile, after the defeat against Brighton, Sharpe believes the United manager will be sacked soon.

The former United winger told Press Association Sport:
“When he came to Chelsea the first time he was quite charming and fun. But now he just seems dour and fed up. He’s moaned about not signing new players and not bigging up the ones he’s got. The football’s not entertaining and what makes it twice as bad is that their two biggest rivals, Man City and Liverpool, do play exciting football. His negative style does not fit in with the expansive football that United fans want. I think he’ll be gone before Christmas.”

Paul Pogba Manchester United

The former England International also believes Mourinho didn’t handle  the Paul Pogba’s situation well.

“I do not think Mourinho has handled the [Paul] Pogba situation very well. It was the same with Luke Shaw before that. Any views should be kept in-house and not appear in the press. Mourinho talks about class [he accused Manchester City of lacking it by making their Amazon TV series]. But that is the sign of class in my eyes. Every player who played for Sir Alex Ferguson – whether they liked him or not – respected him. Because you knew that any grievances would not be aired in the press.”
