Breaking: Liverpool Agree £36 million Fee For Ibrahima Konate

Liverpool were in pursuit of Ibrahima Konate for months. It is official now, finally. Liverpool agreed a £36 million fee for Konate as per reports.

The 21 year old had been pretty impressive for his previous side RB Leipzig. He played for the German side for four consecutive years. He had been a target for a lot of sides as the youngster showed a lot of potential throughout his career so far.

Breaking: Liverpool Agree £36 million Fee For Ibrahima Konate

Liverpool had been struggling for a promising center back from the very moment Virgil Van Dijk got injured. Van Dijk is considered by many fans as the best defender in the world right now. His injury would make Liverpool make suffer was a known fact.

But Van Dijk was not the only defender Liverpool lost due to injury this season; Van Dijk’s partner Joe Gomez also picked up a scary looking injury during the International training session, and the third choice center back Joel Matip was out injured as well.

As replacements, Liverpool had to play Fabinho and Jordan Henderson on the center backs. They called up Nat Phillips (who picked up an injury recently too) who was pretty impressive. During the January transfer window, Liverpool signed two Central defenders; Ben Davies from Preston North End for a total fee of around £1 million and Ozan Kabak from Schalke 04 on loan.

They covered up the bruises of Liverpool’s defense temporarily but it was clearly understood that Liverpool needed a prolific center back more than anything right now.

The French U21 international Ibrahima Konate was on Liverpool’s radar for months. Without any doubt, the Malian Origin French player would be an amazing addition to the Liverpool squad. A tall bossy center back beside Van Dijk would be something Liverpool want more than anything right now.

But then comes the injury issues of Konate. He is an excellent player indeed but on the next page, he is quite injury prone as well, just like most of the recruits made by Jurgen Klopp. One thing that never could never be understood is Jurgen Klopp’s obsession with injury-prone players. Here is another example of that.

Konate faced a number of big injuries for almost every season. With Liverpool’s recent fitness record it is a big doubt if he would remain fit for a full season.

We hope the 21 year old will not get any more injuries and for the rest of his career, he will play the best football of his life.

Breaking: Jose Mourinho Sacked By Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspurs sacked their manager Jose Mourinho today as per reports. Some recent failures like in the UEFA Europa League and weak performance in the Premier League would have caused the sack, as it is understood.

There are no official report or data has been by the club, however, many reliable sources from all over Europe has made the report.

Breaking: Jose Mourinho Sacked By Tottenham

Spurs are only six days away from facing the current league leader Manchester City for the EFL Cup final and sacking their manager at this moment of the situation raises a lot of questions.

Spurs could not meet much success in any competition under the reign of Jose Mourinho. Even though his reign was short-lived, it seems the English side did not have enough time in their hands to slowly pull themselves up to the ultimate success.

Jose signed for Spurs during last season, with a small transfer amount, and whatever circumstances he had, Spurs finished 6th in the league table.

Fans were expecting to see a better performance from Jose Mourinho’s Spurs this season, but not much improvement was seen this season either. The English Giants are currently stuck in the 7th position with only 50 points in 32 matches. Of course, this is not promising enough to finish the top 4 this season.

Even on the UEFA Europa League, Spurs faced a shocking exit the previous week. They had a 2-0 advantage over the Croatian Dinamo Zagreb from the first leg, which they completely handed over to their opponents by losing the second leg by a 3-0 margin.

There is a rumor going all around on the world of football that Mourinho was sacked, but he himself chose to part ways with the English side after getting to know of their intention to participate in the European Super League.

Most of the world of football is showing their disappointments openly after the news of the European Super League broke. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp also sounded very disappointed after hearing the news, it is rumored that Klopp does not want to stay at Liverpool either after the news.

After Mourinho’s departure, there is no news or rumor on who could replace him as the new manager of Tottenham Hotspurs. And there is no news on where could the Portuguese manager go. We hope wherever he goes he will do what he does best again.

“Hopefully, we can make progress in the next two or three weeks, there are a lot of things that need to be organised… we need to get hopefully a couple of (bits of) information but we take it like it is and use each second we are together,” Jurgen Klopp further said.

Liverpool Have Enjoyed A Near Perfect Run In The Premier League This Season

As of now, Liverpool are the obvious champions of the Premier League 2019-20 and are only two wins away from the nine games they have in hand to win the Premier League. Their season was none short of exponential as they were en route to finishing the season as invincibles. However, Crystal Palace broke the jinx but no other club can separate Liverpool from the title this season.

Can Rhian Brewster Be Another Young Sensation Under Jurgen Klopp?

U17 World Cup top scorer and a rising star for Liverpool, can Rhian Brewster make it big?

Rhian Brewster scored a brace against Tranmere Rovers in a 6-0 friendly win yesterday. Jurgen Klopp, however refused to overreact on the situation and said we all know his amazing capabilities. “I could have scored one of Brewster’s goals he said. We shouldn’t be talking only about him, it was a fantastic game and other guys played very well too.

Brewster made his mark in the U17 World Cup in 2017 where he won the golden boot, also winning England the World Cup. He scored back to back hat-tricks against USA and Brazil in the knockout stages and also laid one in the final. Brewster played in the Chelsea youth academy since he was 7 but he moved to the Liverpool academy at the age of 15. He’s played since for the reds and signed a professional contract in 2018. Here, Chelsea again slipped on to a great talent, which they are seen frequently doing.

With a contract extension for Divock Origi, and Roberto Firmino still Liverpool’s main man, Brewster will have to impress Klopp to fit into his plans. “Rhian Brewster is a top striker, he is a top talent and I have told him already that he has an important role this year but how important depends on him. We will see. He has to play different positions as well – the centre, wing is possible I think, we will see how we line up, but there will be opportunities for him. I am sure.” said Klopp.

Liverpool who won the Uefa Champions League 2019, look quiet in the transfer window and have made only one signing until now. They signed highly rated Dutch defender Sepp Van Den Berg from PEC Zwolle for a £1.3 million fee.  They are also looking too sign 16 year old Harvey Elliott from Fulham who holds the record of the youngest player to play in the Premier league.

Jurgen Klopp Set To Be Offered New Contract By Liverpool

Liverpool set to secure Jurgen Klopp for a long term with a lucrative offer on the table.

With Klopp leading Liverpool to Champions League triumph, the Merseyside club wants the manager to be at charge of the club for a long term. Liverpool are reportedly set to offer him £10million-a-year deal. His current contract still runs for three more seasons which sees him bagging £7million per year.

Klopp secured his first title at Liverpool, winning the prestigious Champions League in his 4th year of term. He also gave tough competition to Manchester City in the premier league, clinching the second spot with 97 points. With his great bonding with the team and management and an utter competitive spirit, he has taken Liverpool to new heights .

Liverpool chairman Tom Werner said:

“When the players threw Jurgen in the air after our victory, they were acknowledging what all Liverpool fans know — he is beloved by all who appreciate football. Jurgen is a brilliant coach.  But, just as importantly, he is a humble and caring man who is happy today because he knows what this meant to our supporters.”

Liverpool had lost 3 finals previously under Klopp – 2016 League Cup Final against Manchester City, 2016 Europa League Final against Sevilla and 2018 Champions League Final against Real Madrid. However, with new signings and building a strong squad depth this year they clinched a piece of silverware, with heroics like the 4-0 second-leg comeback against Barcelona in the Champions League Semifinal.

The 51 year old German manager with his current contract is bound to stay at the Merseyside until 2022 with the club and with the new contract set to be offered to him Liverpool want to keep him at the job for a long term period. Klopp, nonetheless, could lead Liverpool to more silverwares this summer with the UEFA Super Cup and Community Shield trophies at stake.

Mario Gotze A Good Fit For Liverpool – Grosskreutz

Former Borussia Dortmund player Kevin Grosskreutz  feels Mario Gotze who is finding life difficult at Dortmund will be a good at Liverpool.

Gotze has been struggling since coming back from injury at Dortmund.

After scoring the World Cup winning goal for Germany in 2014, none could have expected Gotze’s career will go down in the opposite direction. But a transfer to Bayern Munich and injuries have turned out to be a turning point of his career.

Gotze’s performance at Bayern has been below average and he turned out a bench warmer in the end. And he has struggled for form and fitness since re-signing for Dortmund. The game against Club Brugge in the Champions League was his first start since the start of the 2018-19 season.

However, Grosskreutz feels a move to Liverpool and reuniting with former manager Jurgen Klopp can change the fortune of Gotze.

“I’m very sorry for Mario Gotze at the moment, because stuff is written about him – and only him – every day. In Bruges, for example, the whole team didn’t play well. Maybe it would be good for him to go abroad in the winter to find a bit more peace and bring his career back on track. Klopp knows him quite well, he would be a good fit for Liverpool.”

Grosskreutz, who was also the part of the World Cup winning squad with Gotze added:

“Of course he has to deliver performances on the pitch. His head is not completely free at the moment.I never expected his career to experience such a phase.”

Gotze and his side had a decent game against Club Brugge and Christian Pulisic was the hero for Dortmund who came on as a substitute and scored the winner at the dying minutes of the game.

Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp Hits Back at Gary Neville

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has hit out at Garry Neville after the former Manchester United player had said Liverpool should forget about the Champions League so as to win the Premier League.

Klopp didn’t take too time to give a reply to the former Manchester United player.

However, the Liverpool manager didn’t take this opinion too well. Klopp believes a team who have won five Champions League should never write themselves off in this competition.

Jurgen Klopp, Gary Neville
Jurgen Klopp has hit back at the comments made by Gary Neville

“How should that work? What do we do? We don’t play Champions League or what? Gary should come over and tell me exactly how that would work. How do you prepare a game and not focus on it? You bring your kids in the Champions League? That would be funny!”

Klopp totally lashed out at the former United man and asked for another response to tell what he should exactly do.

“I don’t know what he means with that, to be honest. We have to play football. A lot of people watch our games when we play Champions League, and that’s our job that we do the best we can do in all these games. That’s what we try. I don’t know exactly what it means but to focus on one competition can only be if maybe you are already out of the competition nearly. If it’s late in the season that you see you have a chance to do that or do this and all that stuff.”

Klopp further explained why it’s not possible to concentrate only in the Premier League.

“Last year, for example, we had no chance to focus on one competition because we had to qualify for the Champions League and I don’t think that even Gary Neville would have said: ‘Quarterfinals of the Champions League, let City win. It doesn’t work like this. I don’t want to be too critical because I don’t know exactly how he said it but sitting in an office and talking about football is completely different to doing the job, to be honest. But it’s an opinion.”

Meanwhile, Liverpool will face Tottenham on Saturday in a mouthwatering Premier League clash.

Loris Karius, Besiktas

It is Important to Me to Play for Besiktas – Loris Karius

Loris Karius, who had a disappointing end in the Champions League final of last season has moved to Besiktas on a two-year loan.

However, he revealed the Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp wanted him to stay, and he had to convince the manager to let him go.

Karius has joined Besiktas on a two-year loan deal.

After making awful errors in the Champions League final against Real Madrid, things started to turn around for Karius at Anfield. Liverpool signed Allison Bekar from Roma making him the second expensive goalkeeper in the world. And after the signing, it was only about time for Karius to lose his place in the starting XI.

However, despite getting dropped to the bench, Klopp wanted Karius as the second goalkeeper. But the player felt playing for the Turkish side would be the best option. After being unveiled as a Besiktas player, the former Liverpool goal-keeper said,

“He [Klopp] told me he would like to have me in the squad because he wants to have the best quality players. But I spoke to him and asked him for my wish. It is important to me to play for Besiktas. I talked with him for a long time, and he understood my situation. I think it was a good deal for everyone. He wished me well, but he said he would have liked to keep me.”

Talking about the nightmare errors in the final, Karius feels it was nothing but an unlucky day.

“If you give the circumstances with a serious injury, as well that I don’t know in what way it affected me, you have to move on. It was an unlucky day, but it’s football. I don’t think a lot of players reach a Champions League final. If you look at how many goalkeepers in the league reach a Champions League final, I don’t know. So it was a great achievement. Unfortunately, on this day we were unlucky, and it wasn’t the best performance. But there were a lot of things that came together. It’s in the past now, and I look forward to the future.”

The exit of Loris Karius for at least the next two years means Simon Mignolet will be the second choice goalkeeper for Liverpool.

I Find This Discussion Hypocritical – Jurgen Klopp On Ozil And Gundogan Criticism

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp feels the controversy surrounding Mesut Ozil and Ilkay Gundogan’s photograph with Turkish president has been taken way over the line.

Klopp wants the discussion about Mesut Ozil and Gundogan to stop.

The German players have been highly criticised after they posed for posed for a picture with the Turkish president in May. They were booed by their home fans during friendly matches and Ozil had to take too many criticism after their early World Cup exit.

Soon after the World Cup, Ozil announced retirement from International football stating disrespect and racism as reasons.

Klopp,  who coached Gundogan at Borussia Dortmund, told Sport1:
“This is a classic example of absolute misinformation and, of course, complete nonsense. In politics, little things have always been blown up and big things pushed away in order to continue.

Normally, intelligent people tend to hold back because it is not easy to say the right thing. I would count myself [among those people] too. All those who have no idea are very loud in these conversations.

“I do not doubt these guys, at least about their loyalty to our homeland. The difference is that they just have one more thing [in their heritage]. Where is the problem? That’s beautiful.”

Mesut Ozil

The Liverpool manager also explained why he feels this discussion is hypocritical:
“Cultural diversity, we all thought it was really cool around the 2006 World Cup. I saw these fantastic commercials where the parents of Gerald Asamoah and Mario Gomez had a barbecue party together. And now two guys are seduced by politically quite intelligent people to have a photo. Then have relatively few opportunities to say what they want 100 per cent right.”

“That’s why I find this discussion hypocritical. Bad things happened because people were not informed properly. Even the media should not create a buzz around something like this every day. Just cool off and see the people behind it.”

Meanwhile, Klopp’s men have started their Premier League campaign with two wins in a row. Liverpool trashed West Ham 4-0 at home while they took all three points away from home beating Crystal Palace 2-0.

I Wanted Kevin de Bruyne Desperately When I Was At Dortmund – Klopp

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has labeled the people an ‘a**hole*’ who think that Kevin De Bruyne’s injury blow at Manchester City has levelled the Premier League.

Kevin De Bruyne will be on the sidelines for a lengthy spell.

De Bruyne suffered a massive injury during Manchester City’s training on Wednesday. It will keep him out of the pitch for at least three months. And this has given a massive blow to the high flying Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Klopp had some high praise for the Belgian midfielder. He also revealed that during his Dortmund days, he desperately wanted to sign De Bruyne.

Klopp told Sky sports:

“I think somebody who thinks like that, about a situation like that, is an a**hole, to be honest. I am not like that. First of all, I wish him the absolute very best. I love this player, I wanted him desperately when I was at Dortmund and he was at Chelsea, but Jose didn’t give him to me.”

Despite losing de Bruyne, Klopp believes City still have many options in their side.

“What a season he had, what a World Cup he played. I really feel for him. They have options of course, like they always have options, they brought in Riyad Mahrez, but they can all play in different positions. Bernardo Silva can play a bit deeper, [Phil] Foden can play in positions, [Ilkay] Gundogan can play in positions.”

The Liverpool manager also said they don’t doubt City’s quality and wants to concentrate only on themselves.

“Nobody needs to worry about Man City and their quality, there is still a lot there. We don’t look at the other teams, we really only try to make the best of our situation, and that will hopefully work.”

Liverpool and Manchester City started their Premier League campaign with a win.
