Virat Kohli Don’t Pay Attention To Followers Count

Virat Kohli boasts of a huge fan base both on and off the field and is also the most followed Indian celebrity on the popular social platform. Addressing a press conference ahead of the fourth and the final Test against Joe Root-led England, Virat Kohli was asked about his reaction to reaching the unique milestone. In his response, he said that he is not inspired by the number of followers he has on Instagram as he looks to improve himself.

“I don’t pay a lot of attention to the followers count. I don’t get inspired by that. I just want to be a better person and a cricketer. If people get happy by what I post that makes me happy. That’s it,” Virat Kohli said.

While he is the most followed Indian sportsperson on Instagram, overall, Virat Kohli is ranked fourth. Portugal superstar footballer Cristiano Ronaldo tops the chart with 265 million followers, followed by Argentina football captain and FC Barcelona legend Lionel Messi and Brazil’s Neymar, who are second and third in the elite list with 186 million and 147 million followers respectively. After reaching the milestone, Virat Kohli also thanked his followers on Instagram as he wrote: “You have made this journey beautiful. Feeling blessed and grateful for all the love. Thank you. 100 million. #instafam.”

Virat Kohli resumed his captaincy duties after missing the last three Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy which was won by India to attend the birth of his child. Team India currently has an unassailable 2-1 lead over England with the final Test to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium from March 4.

Among others, Dwayne Johnson, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus have more than 100 million Instagram followers.

Virat Kohli: There Is Too Much Noise And Conversation About Spin Tracks

He also shared his views on the debate around the nature of the wicket for the 3rd Test between India and England which ended in 2 days.

“There is always too much noise and too much conversation about spin tacks,” Kohli said.

“I am sure if our media is in a space to contradict those views or present views which say that it is unfair to criticise only spin tracks, then it will be a balanced conversation.”

He went on to add on the same breadth that a strong defence was required to play on challenging tracks at the same time adding that the shorter formats have a role to play in batsmen not having a strong defence anymore.

“Defence is imperative. Because of influence of white-ball cricket, Test cricket is witnessing consistent results but it is just a by-product in reference to batting that the defence part of the batting is being compromised,” he said.

“That grind of playing four-five sessions is not the focus these days and everybody wants to put on 300-350 runs on the board quickly. Probably people are not focussing on defence, they have to switch to other formats, so the game is fast paced.

“So definitely the skill is required and it’s not just the sweep shot. For me it’s defence. This aspect of batting has gone back a bit.”

India captain Virat Kohli believes the debate surrounding the Ahmedabad pitch has been going in for far too long time and it is about time people should come to terms with the fact that spin is an important factor while playing Test cricket in the sub-continent.

Woman who accused Neymar of rape dropped by her own Lawyer

The woman who accused Neymar of rape has been dropped by her Lawyers because of her contradictory stories.

The incident took place on May 15th in a hotel in Paris, France while she reported it on May 31st in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

She told her lawyers that it was a case of physical assault while reported a matter of rape to the police. A medical examination carried out on May 21 – six days after the alleged rape – revealed the woman had bruising on her legs and buttocks and was also suffering from post-traumatic stress.

Now, her lawyer has told O Globo TV that she initially said that she had only been physically assaulted by the footballer.

Neymar sidelined for ten weeks with foot injury

José Edgard da Cunha Bueno Filho said he only heard about the rape claim when she made it in a formal complaint to police on May 31.

Mr Cunha Bueno Filho said, he advised her to handle the matter by sorting it out with Neymar’s legal team as a court cas could be very long. The lawyer also had concern with the woman releasing a video she made of Neymar in their second meeting go public.

“Matters came to a difficult moment and her actions challenged my ethical standards, my professionalism about how I was handling things”, he said.

“So for that reason, I no longer felt comfortable representing her. It just didn’t make sense,” he said.

Neymar Jr. says he is being framed in order to extort money. The allegations are completely false. In order to prove his innocence the PSG star released a video in which he showed a string of his whats app chats with the accuser. The chat had X-rated pictures sent by the accuser, of which some were blurred and a few were visible. This could land Neymar into trouble as releasing someone’s obscene pictures without consent is a crime.

In an interview with Band TV, with his lawyers present, the footballer’s father Neymar senior said: “My son is a victim of attempted extortion and this is the reason why he released the messages.

“He preserved the name of the girl and her image but (my son) had to defend himself. He’s been accused of rape and this is a crime he has not committed.

“He didn’t have a choice. He preferred to commit an internet crime than be accused of rape.

“This was something he had to defend himself from quickly. It’s better that he tells the truth now to show what really happened.”

Neymar’s father spoke about the second meeting with the woman, which he claims she tried to record.

“She was desperate to meet up with her for the second time. He went (to the her hotel) and stayed for 10 minutes,” he said.

Neymar Says He’s Being Falsely Accused Of Rape

Neymar Jr. shared a video to show his personal chat on Whats App with the girl who is accusing him of rape.

On Saturday, reports in Brazilian media said that Neymar has been accused of rape according to local police. It was reported that, on 15th May 2019, Neymar who was apparently drunk, had sexual encounter with a girl against her will, in a hotel room in Paris.

In the video, he said, “I’m sharing everything and the entire conversation that I had with the woman, all of our private moments.”

“It’s necessary to open up and show this to show that nothing more really happened.

“What happened this day was a relationship between a man and a woman between four walls, something that happens with all couples.

“Nothing was wrong the next day and we continued to exchange messages.”

He went on to speak of his sadness at the accusations.

“I am being accused of rape,” he said.

“It’s a heavy word and a strong thing, but that’s what is happening right now and it caught me by surprise.

“It’s very bad and sad to hear this because anyone who knows me knows my character and my integrity and knows I’d never do something like this.

“It was a trap and I ended up falling for it, but that’s a lesson for the future.

“There are people who want to capitalise on and extort other people, which is really sad.

“It doesn’t just hurt me, but my entire family.

“I was raised well and it’s sad to be exposed to this.

“I have to try something sincere and honest, because I am like this and am honest.”

Neymar Jr. accused of sexual assault

Brazilian star Neymar Jr. has been accused of sexual assault. A woman has filed a complaint in Sao Paolo, Brazil and alleges that she was forced into sexual activities by an apparently drunk Neymar in the city of Paris on 15th of May 2019. She says that she was too traumatized to report the matter early to the French police and headed straight back to Brazil two days after the incident.

According to the police documents, the woman whose name is kept concealed, says that she got in contact with the star on Instagram and soon Neymar arranged her air tickets from Brazil to Paris and a room at Hotel Sofitel Paris Arc Du Triomphe. She told that Neymar barged into the room drunk on the night of 15th May. They engaged in a few conversations and mild cuddling, after which he held her aggressively and through violence and against her will had sexual intercourse with her.

Father denies the charges:

Neymar’s father who is also his agent told the Press that his son is being framed into this . “If public opinion is not cleared up, and if we can’t show the truth rapidly, this will snowball. If we have to show Neymar’s WhatsApps and the conversations with this girl, we will,” he added.

This season has been quite difficult for Neymar as he missed out on most of the games for PSG with a metatarsal injury. As he returned to Brazil for Copa America he was stripped of captaincy of the national team, followed to which he got a minor injury scare just 2 weeks prior to the Copa America and now he’s being accused of sexual assault charges.

After his return from the injury at PSG he has faced many disciplinary issues, he punched a fan after the Cup Final with Rennes for which he could face 5 to 8 matches ban in the league, prior to which he insulted the referees in PSG’s UCL exit against Manchester United and was suspended for three European matches. He was also reportedly involved in a dressing room brawl too.

Can the return from injury be any worse for Neymar?

Neymar plays down injury fears

London, Nov 21: Neymar has reassured fans that an injury he suffered during Brazil’s 1-0 victory over Cameroon in a friendly is not serious.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward limped off early in the match at Stadium MK on Tuesday with what appeared to be an adductor muscle injury, reports Xinhua news agency.

“It was nothing serious,” Neymar wrote on Instagram. “Thanks to everyone who sent me messages of support and wished me a speedy recovery. I think I’ll be okay.”

Brazil team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar also played down fears of a lengthy injury layoff for the 26-year-old.

“He felt discomfort. He will need a bit more time to evaluate it and take a scan, but in principle it is not a serious injury,” he said.

Everton forward Richarlison, who replaced Neymar in the eighth minute, proved to be the match-winner, heading in his third goal from six Brazil matches just before halftime.

Neymar injury overshadows Brazil’s victory against Cameroon

London, Nov 21: Brazil prevailed 1-0 in a friendly against Cameroon outside London, but the injury that forced captain and superstar Neymar to leave the field in the 7th minute cast a shadow over the win.

Visibly in distress after taking a shot, the striker on Tuesday made his way to the sideline for medical attention and then returned to the match, reports Efe news.

On his next touch, Neymar made another try on the Cameroon net before falling to the ground.

Neymar “felt discomfort,” Brazil team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar said later. “He will need a bit more time to evaluate it and take a scan, but in principle it is not a serious injury.”

The departure of the Paris Saint-Germain forward dampened the enthusiasm of the nearly 30,000 spectators who attended the friendly mainly to watch Neymar in action.

Brazil coach Tite tapped Richarlison to replace Neymar and the Everton man delivered the game’s only goal in the final minute of the first half, heading in a corner by Willian.

Both teams made wholesale substitutions in the second half and Cameroon backup goalkeeper Fabrice Ondoa nearly cost his team a second goal when he came off his line and left the net unguarded for Brazil’s Gabriel Jesus, whose shot hit the post.

Ondoa, however, redeemed himself in the final stretch by stopping Jesus and Richarlison in quick succession on the same offensive sequence.

With Brazil’s 2018 campaign over, Neymar’s injury is of more immediate concern to PSG coach Thomas Tuchel than to Tite, especially after the Parisians’ other star forward, Kylian Mbappe, left Tuesday’s France-Uruguay friendly with an injury.

FC Barcelona to Take Legal Action Against Media

Spanish club, FC Barcelona are set to take legal action against the media, as they deny that a club executive earned commission on the sale of Neymar.

Barcelona denies about the Neymar sale issue.

According to SER Catalunya, Barcelona’s club executive, Andre Cury took €6.6 million from Neymar’s world record €222m move to Paris Saint-Germain last summer. The report also claimed he was due a three per cent cut of any future sale.

However, FC Barcelona has denied it and claimed it as a fake report. They have also threatened the media for spreading such news. Also, they are set to file a case for “fake news which goes against the club’s image and legitimate interests.” The La Liga champions released a statement, which says,

“Barcelona deny having paid any commission to Andre Cury in regards to the exit of Neymar. Cury has a non-exclusive contractual relationship with the club, through his company, to do scouting work.

In recent times, he has collaborated with the signings of players such as Paulinho, Yerry Mina, Philippe Coutinho and Arthur. Barcelona reserve the right to take the necessary legal action against those that report false news about the club.”

The allegations have hurt FC Barcelona’s image, and they will take any step they need to give a warning to the media.

Neymar’s transfer involved €222 million fees long with €306 million which will add up to his wages over the five-year tenure at PSG. The Ligue 1 club didn’t have to pay any taxes over the transfer. As per new rules, while spending the release clause, VAT and IRPF will already be included in the total sum.

In France, the maximum tax for any income over 500,001 euros is 45 per cent. And Neymar still being single, he is having an extra charge of 4 per cent.

Richarlison double fires Brazil to win over El Salvador

Richarlison double fires Brazil to win over El Salvador

Washington, Sep 12: Richarlison scored either side of halftime as Brazil romped to a 5-0 victory over El Salvador in their international friendly here.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar gave Brazil the lead from the penalty spot in the fourth minute on Tuesday after Richarlison was brought down by Roberto Dominguez at FedEx field, reports Xinhua news agency.

Making his first start for Brazil following his debut off the bench against the US last Thursday, Richarlison made it 2-0 in the 16th minute by curling a shot into the top right corner after Neymar’s pass.

Neymar was again the provider as Philippe Coutinho fired a low diagonal effort past goalkeeper Henry Hernandez on the half-hour mark.

The rout continued after half-time when Richardson’s powerful low shot beat Hernandez at his near post. Marquinhos made it 5-0 in second-half stoppage time with a free header after Neymar’s cross, completing a hat-trick of assists for the Brazil captain.

“I want to thank my teammates for setting me up to score,” Richarlison said after the match.

“Now it’s a matter of going back to my club (Everton) and working as hard as I can so that I can have more opportunities with the national team.”

Tite Ends Rotation Policy, Neymar Named as Brazil Captain

Brazil ace forward Neymar has been announced as the captain of Brazil national team as the coach Tite decided to end the rotation policy. Neymar will lead Brazil permanently from now on. After choosing different captains in almost every match in the recently-held 2018 World Cup in Russia.

However, coach Tite has decided not to rotate the leadership any more. Thus, he has handed over the responsibility to the PSG forward.

Brazil team was knocked out in the quarter-final against Belgium in the coveted World Cup. And Tite has decided to make some changes to boost up the team.

Neymar, who was not fully fit in the World Cup and came back after a long-term injury scored two goals in the tournament.

However, he couldn’t live up to the expectations. Many criticised Neymar for his on-field behaviour and for falling too quickly after being fouled.

After receiving the captain’s armband, Neymar appeared in the press conference and said:

“I accepted again because I’ve learned a lot and I will learn much more. And this responsibility will be a good thing to me. I think that probably no one here in this room will ever live something close that I’ve lived not even during the Olympics, but after the World Cup as well.”

“I was targeted by many critics, a lot of bad things. And  I wasn’t OK at that very moment [after the game against Belgium] to speak. So when I’m not OK to speak, I prefer to stay shut because the silence is the best answer,” he added.

Talking about the fouls and taking on the opponents in the World Cup, Neymar had full support for himself in his voice. He has a full backing of coach Tite.

“I don’t have much to say about it. I’m a player who takes the ball 11 times, and in 10 times I go straight to the opponent. I think they won’t let me pass without giving me a little strike. Also, I can’t ask them, ‘Hey, excuse me but let me score’. I suffered lots of fouls during the World Cup. But it happened. It’s another lesson I carry with me,” Neymar reiterated.
