Sunil Kumar will be leading U Mumba in the 12th season of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL 2025). The veteran defender led his team to the playoffs last season and will be eyeing title this year. U Mumba qualified for the playoffs after a seven-year drought and will be keen to build on the successful season.
They won 12 games last season, their most since the seventh season. The onus will now be on Sunil to ensure that the team builds on the success and go all the way this year.
Sunil’s journey in the PKL began in the fourth season. After winning the Junior Nationals in 2015 and 2016, he was signed up by Patna Pirates for the fourth season. He stayed with Patna for just one season before joining Gujarat Giants in 2017 and stayed with the team for four seasons.
Ahead of the ninth season in 2022, he joined Jaipur Pink Panthers. He played for the same team in 2023 as well before joining U Mumba in 2024. Last season, he scored 54 points from 23 games and will look to lead from the front once again.
