Man City routs West Ham 4-0, remain in Premier League’s top spot

London, Nov 25: Defending champion Manchester City thrashed host West Ham United 3-0 at London Stadium to stay undefeated in the Premier League and hold on to the first place.

Midfielder David Silva, a former Spanish international, gave the Citizens an early 1-0 lead just 11 minutes into the game on Saturday night, reports Efe news.

Leroy Sane then assisted on a goal by Raheem Sterling in the 19th minute before the English winger returned the favour and set up a score by the German forward in the 34th minute as Manchester City stretched its lead to 3-0.

Manchester City remains in first place after the win with 35 points, while West Ham is in 13th place with 12 points.

Second-placed Liverpool, meanwhile, kept the pressure on the Sky Blues with a hard-fought 3-0 away win over Watford at Vicarage Road.

Elsewhere in English football, Everton topped Cardiff City 1-0 at Goodison Park, while Brighton & Hove Albion played to a 1-1 draw with 10-man Leicester City at Amex Stadium.

Fulham (eight points), meanwhile, edged visiting Southampton 3-2 at Craven Cottage for its first 2018-2019 Premier League win.

FIFA World Cup 2018: Midfielder Wilshere joins West Ham on 3-year deal

London, July 10: Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere on Monday joined capital football club West Ham United on a three-year deal.

“The 26-year-old midfielder arrives at West Ham on a three-year contract and joins the club he supported as a boy after he chose to leave Arsenal after 17 years when his contract expired last month,” West Ham said in a statement.

“The 34-cap England international put pen-to-paper with the Hammers on Monday and will fly out to Switzerland to link up with Manuel Pellegrini’s squad at their pre-season training camp in Bad Ragaz.”

“It feels good, it feels special. Many people know that I’ve had a special bond with this club growing up,” Wilshere, whose father and brother are also lifelong supporters of West Ham, said in a statement.

“People will have seen the picture of me in a West Ham shirt and I’ve got good memories of my childhood supporting West Ham, watching them at Upton Park. It feels good and of course my family and a few of my friends are West Ham fans so everyone’s buzzing.”

David Moyes The Best, Says West Ham Co-Owner

London, Nov 8 (IANS) West Ham co-owner David Gold heaped praise on his newly-appointed club coach David Moyes and said he is the best man available.

West Ham United Close To Signing Former Manchester United Star Who Could Play His First Game Against The Red Devils

West Ham United did not have the best of the seasons under Slaven Bilic in the last campaign as they failed to break into the top half of the table, on the back of a season that saw them play the Europa League qualifiers.

Though Bilic was unlucky with the number of injuries to his squad, he will know that he is lucky to keep his job and that he will not be given any more chances to get West Ham back on track next season.

So the Croat is making sure that he has enough arsenal in his squad to make sure that they can compete with the best next season.

This has seen the Hammers linked with some of the finest stars in world football at the moment and one player constantly linked with a move to the club is Mexican international Javier Hernandez.

Having played for Manchester United and Real Madrid in the past, Hernandez is one of the most prolific strikers in world football and reports suggest that West Ham and Chelsea are interested in his signature this summer.

West Ham to announce Chicharito this week

But according to reports from Sky Sports, the Hammers have won the race for the signature of the Mexican star and are set to unveil him in the upcoming days.

He has 28 Bundesliga goals to his name in two full seasons for Bayer Leverkusen but it is now understood that he is on his way back to England, to play in the Capital city next season.

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth spoke to the press and revealed that both clubs are close to reaching an agreement for the player.

“One move that is edging closer is the striker Javier Hernandez,” Sheth said on Sky Sports News.

“It’s our information a move from Bayer Leverkusen could be finalised in the next week,” he added.

He also suggested that West Ham will make an improved bid for Stoke City star Marko Arnautovic soon.

‘West Ham have had two bids rejected, the latest being £20million.“

“We expect the third offer and expect it soon,” he added.

Chicharito to debut against Manchester United

And ironically, West Ham United have a chance to unveil their new signing in the Premier League when they travel to the Old Trafford in the first game of the season.

West Ham’s opening game, yep, is at Hernandez’s former club Manchester United,” Seth confirmed.

Hernandez scored 37 goals in his time at Old Trafford but can he better it at Manchester United?

Transfer Window 2017: 10 Transfers That Will Be Completed In The Upcoming Days

The Premier League has been a busy place since the end of the previous season as teams from all over the country are busy trying to get their deals done quickly this summer.

The likes of Manchester City and Everton have been the busiest clubs by far this summer while Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea are not too far behind.

There are a number of smaller clubs as well, who are looking to complete their deals quickly and now that the transfer window is officially open, a few of those moves have been regulated.

The Premier League has already seen a few players add to various squads but what are the top-10 moves so far of this window?

Here are 10 of the top transfers that are all but completed in the current transfer window:

//

After Olivier Giroud, West Ham Target Yet Another Arsenal Attacker

Slaven Bilic could not help West Ham build on their 2015-16 campaign as they failed to establish themselves in the top half of the Premier League table in the previous season.

It is now high time for the Croatian manager to help the London club back to their best and he is making some monumental efforts to improve on his options in the squad.

The  Hammers have a decent squad at their disposal but the lack of consistency and constant injury issues meant that they need quite a few additions to their squad if they are to compete for a place in Europe next season.

Bilic is already looking at some fine players for a move this summer and the latest name on the radar of the London club is Arsenal star, Theo Walcott.

West Ham are already looking at Arsenal’s French hitman Olivier Giroud, who is expected to fall down the pecking order if Arsenal are able to land Alexandre Lacazette this summer.

It is understood that West Ham are willing to meet his valuation after the transfer window is open and have now also turned their attention towards the English winger.

According to reports from the Sun, Theo Walcott is now ready to quit the Emirates before the start of the next season and West Ham are ready to offer Arsenal £25m for his services this summer.

The 28-year old started the season in fine form but was not able to show consistency in the crunch period, which saw him fall down the pecking order under Arsene Wenger.

He was unable to claim a place in the first team after Wegner shifted to a 3-4-3 system and with the manager also looking to add another winger, Walcott has decided that he has no future at the club.

At 28, he is in his prime and will want to put in some nice performances this season to impress the English manager Gareth Southgate to steal a place in the squad for the World Cup next year.

So he will be willing to leave Arsenal in the upcoming weeks but do you think West Ham will be able to land him?

West Ham Set To Raid Manchester United For Chris Smalling

Manchester United are ready to sell their central defender Chris Smalling if any club can match their £12million valuation, according to reports.

The English defender will be getting considerably lesser playing time next season as Manchester United have already signed Victor Lindelof from Benfica for a £30.7 million. The 22-year old is expected to partner Eric Bailly in the central defence next season and will be unveiled as their first signing later this week as he is yet to complete his medical.

The 27-year old had a difficult first season under Jose Mourinho as he was injured for most parts of the season and had managed to start only 13 Premier League games. He has been linked with plenty of clubs in the recent days as the likes of Arsenal, Everton and Crystal Palace are all linked with a move.

But according to Daily Express, the Hammers are considered as front runners to sign Smalling who could face an exit from Old Trafford in the upcoming days. Smalling still has two years left on his Manchester United contract but Jose Mourinho was frustrated with his injury record as the manager publicly criticised Smalling for his injuries.

But Smalling said that the statement was more from a ‘frustration’ of Mourinho than specifically targeting him.

He said: “I think that was sort of directed at everybody in many ways … we had a lot of injuries at that time and he was frustrated that quite a lot of players weren’t available.

“He knew the picture in terms of liaising with the medical staff.

“He was just as frustrated as us who want to be on the pitch. That was just a global frustration. (Before that) I had done the injury (broken toe); I played on and there was obviously a break.

“He didn’t know the full extent at that time.”

Chris Smalling moved from Fulham to Manchester United in 2010 for a fee of £10m and have developed into a decent central defender at the club and have been an integral part of first team in the recent seasons. Meanwhile, West Ham are also looking at various options to strengthen their central defense.

The Londoners are making moves to sign Hamburg’s former Arsenal centre-back Johan Djourou, who is available on a free transfer and are also keen to hijack Arsenal’s move for Henry Onyekuru in the coming days.
