5 Booking Options For The United States Champion Roman Reigns
Nov 2, 2016 at 3:17 PM
Roman Reigns has just defeated Rusev to retain his United States title at the Hell in a Cell PPV. He was booked to come out victorious off the demonic steel structure for consecutive two years to look even stronger. Now, since Survivor Series is coming ahead and he will be competing against Smackdown brand as a team member from Raw, he is not likely to be pitted against a new opponent. But, what’s next for him, moving forward? Here’re 5 booking options for Reigns for future.
Continuation of feud with Rusev
Rusev was portrayed even stronger before Reigns was put into the US title picture during Summerslam. There’s no point of burying the momentum of the Bulgarian Brute by handing him the loss against Reigns and then follow it up with a beatdown from Goldberg. So, giving it back to him sounds fine. He will continue dominating and go on to Wrestlemania bullying the Americans. Meanwhile, Reigns should be taken back to the Universal title picture when the Wrestlemania season starts to pick up, by virtue of this.
Cesaro
This one is pretty hard to do for the WWE Creative. The fans want to see Cesaro with the opportunity given and what better way to give it against Reigns, the supposed cornerstone of the company pitted by Vince McMahon. But, the WWE Universe will shower him with insane boos while backing up the Swiss Superman. The Rusev feud has given back Reigns some sort of dignity amongst the fans. Pitting him against Cesaro will take him back where he belongs. Cesaro, however, deserves the opportunity. In fact, he’s been one of the longest reigning US champions of all time. The clash between would automatically be earth-shattering & mouth-watering for the audience.
Sheamus
WWE should try with this one after the Irishman is done with his forced friendship with Cesaro. This will also be very safe for WWE to play with. The crowd certainly will not boo reigns more than they do with Sheamus. The Celtic Warrior has been a 4 time World champion and he certainly doesn’t belong to the irrelevant category. So, a renewal of this rivalry from last year would favor them both.
Chris Jericho
I agree that this might sound a bit odd but after all that Chris Jericho has done for the company over the past few years, does not he deserve to be a champion, once again, it is certain that he is not going to be a world champion at this age. So, why not he becomes the United State champion? His friend, Kevin Owens will help him to win against Reigns so that both of them can hold championships. Plus, this will bring Roman Reigns directly to the Universal title picture feuding with Owens. We have already got the teaser of Reigns to headline Wrestlemania in the first poster released by WWE.
Braun Strowman
So, Strowman wants real competition? He gets one in the name of the superman, Roman Reigns. The mountain of a man will get to compete against a top guy from the locker room after he is done with Sami Zayn. Nobody is better than Roman Reigns to do this. I have no doubt that the ongoing feud with Zayn is going to be another squash feud for Strowman. Reigns too is not supposed to get into the Universal title picture, immediately after Survivor Series. So, we should not be wondering if we see Reigns showing up when Strowman asks for more real competition. A title run will be just perfect for the man to cement him as one of the most the top heels of the company.
