After receiving an impromptu challenge just a night ago, Toni Storm was able to go through a successful title defense at AEW Battle of the Belts 7. Which marked the third TV title defense for the reigning champion, interference from The Outcasts members helped her to retain the title.

In the AEW Battle of the Belts 7 special, Toni Storm retained the AEW Women’s World Championship against Taya Valkyrie in a singles contest. The actual broadcast was interrupted which blocked the view of the match. But replays showed that The Outcasts member Ruby Soho came out to distract Taya which allowed Storm to secure the pinfall win.

Just before AEW Battle of the Belts 7, Soho herself remained unsuccessful on AEW Collision on the same night in her attempt to win the AEW Owen Hart Tournament women’s version. This was the second consecutive year that the former WWE Superstar came up short as Dr. Britt Baker defeated her in the 2022 AEW Owen Hart Cup finale to win. This year, Willow Nightingale won the tournament to possibly earn a shot at Toni Storm’s title in the future.

Apart from the Women’s Title, Luchasaurus (alongside Christian Cage) retained the TNT Championship in the main event of the AEW Battle of the Belts 7 special after a match with Shawn Spears.
