Starting from a rookie and no godfather in wrestling, Britt Baker went on to become the face of the AEW Women’s division. It was a huge accomplishment from her side as she had to overcome the odds with so many veteran talents around her. Also, she had to maintain her dental career en route to becoming a bonafide champion in the company.
At this point, Britt Baker is in the middle of her first title reign as the AEW Women’s Champion where she has defeated some top names in the division in order to continue with the reign. She defeated Hikaru Shida to win the title back in May at this year’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view event. This made Shida’s reign end, which lasted for an incredible 372 days.
Britt Baker On Transformation From A Rookie To Top AEW Superstar In 2021
As you can see, Britt Baker has a long way to in order to break that record but she is closing in on an impressive milestone herself. At this point, she has held the women’s title for 195 days. Next week, she will surpass 200 days as champion. Thus, the dental doctor will be the second-longest reigning champion in AEW history.

Previously, Nyla Rose held the title for 101 days while Riho, the inaugural champion, held the strap for 133 days. Britt Baker’s most recent title defense took place against Tay Conti at the November Full Gear pay-per-view event. Currently, there’s no number-one contender is set to challenge her.
Britt Baker is good friends with Impact Superstars
Going by her success rate in AEW, nobody even stands close to dethrone Britt Baker from the ongoing title reign. For the time being, she is enjoying time with AAA Reina de Reinas Champion Deonna Purrazzo and Impact Superstar Chelsea Green as the latter is approaching close for her wedding ceremony with Matt Cordona.
Purrazzo is definitely waiting to have a crossover match with Britt Baker in a mouth-watering bout as she had the following to say in an interview with Fightful,
“I think I was a little disappointed because for me, there’s a ton of dream matches with people I haven’t been in the ring with for years or have never been in the ring with prior. But, I think Impact was the hub of all of the crossover, and we got to do a lot of stuff with NWA. Obviously, my match with Melina was one of the headliners of Empowerrr. As disappointing as it was, I try to look at the positive now instead of harping on what could have been. Let’s look at what was.” (quotes courtesy Wrestling News)
