The numbers game proved to be too much for the former AEW Women’s Champion Jamie Hayter at AEW Double or Nothing 2023. She was scheduled to defend her title at last night’s AEW PPV against The Outcasts’ member Toni Storm. The faction’s presence and interference eventually cost Hayter the championship.

Thus, during the title match AEW Double or Nothing 2023 pay-per-view, Toni Storm defeated Jamie Hayter to become the new AEW Women’s Champion to become a two-time champion in her career in the company. Before the match could even begin, Storm’s allies, Saraya and Ruby Soho attacked Hayter on the ramp, ensuring that Hayter wouldn’t be 100 percent heading into the match.

In fact, Hayter was dragged out through the ramp by Soho and Saraya. As Hayter agreed to compete in the match, her own allies Dr. Britt Baker and Hikaru Shida got into the mix, trying to help her. However, Storm eventually secured the pinfall win after connecting with her Storm Zero finisher on her hurt opponent.

It’s worth noting that going into the scheduled match at AEW Double or Nothing 2023, Hayter was already dealing with a shoulder injury and it was taped up. This was also the reason why the kayfabe beatdown was inserted before the match to keep it short in length. Before this, Hayter wasn’t cleared to compete on the May 17 episode of AEW Dynamite.

In the end, AEW Double or Nothing 2023 marked a sweet redemption point for Toni Storm. She previously Thunder Rosa to become the Interim AEW Women’s Champion, last year in the summer and then dropped it to Hayter at Full Gear in November.

In another big news coming out of AEW Double or Nothing 2023, Jade Cargill successfully defended her title against Taya Valkyrie. After the match was over, Mark Sterling made a big announcement that Cargill had 60 wins and zero losses. This is when Kris Statlander made her big return to the AEW programming and made Cargill agree to compete in another title match, right there.

Kris got the better of Cargill who was exhausted from her match against Taya and easily pinned her to become the new TBS Champion. With that Cargill’s 60-0 streak came to an end at AEW Double or Nothing 2023. She was the inaugural TBS Champion who won the title at the AEW’s debut episode on TBS Network in January 2022.
