The annual tradition of AEW Dynamite Fyter Fest 2022 will return next week on TBS programming and it will through the week after that. The possible headlining match for the first night of the event has been announced during last night’s episode of Dynamite and it would be contested over the AEW Tag Team Titles.
As confirmed, The Young Bucks – Matt and Nick Johnson will be defending their AEW Tag Team Championships in a triple threat title match at AEW Dynamite Fyter Fest 2022 against two teams. Swerve in Our Glory (Swerve Strickland and Keith Lee) and Team Taz’s Powerhouse Hobbs and Ricky Starks are the two challengers who were selected to go up against the only two-time AEW Tag Team Champions in history.
AEW Rampage Card Announced During July 6 Dynamite Episode
The match setup for AEW Dynamite Fyter Fest 2022 came after Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland defeated The Butcher and The Blade on last night’s Dynamite, in a tag team contest. Ricky Starks and PowerHouse Hobbs then interrupted and stated that this win means nothing and Lee and Swerve are not the best Tag Team in AEW.
AEW World Tag Team Champions Matt and Nick then came out and claimed to be the best in the Tag Team Division. The champions themselves proposed a challenge for all six of them that led to the Triple Threat Matchup announcement for the AEW Tag Team Titles at AEW Dynamite Fyter Fest 2022.
Speaking of the event, two former WWE Superstars will be involved in an interesting matchup when Jake Hager (former WWE Superstar Jack Swagger) from the Jericho Appreciation Society and Claudio Castagnoli from Blackpool Combat Club (former WWE Superstar Cesaro) competes in a one-on-one capacity.
For those who have forgotten, Swagger and Cesaro were tag team partners in the WWE, back in 2014. They used to be known as The Real Americans with Zeb Colter acting as their on-screen manager. It will be interesting to see how the two ex-WWE Superstars recreate their chemistry inside the ring.
