The legendary announcer J.R aka Jim Ross, will be returning to the commentary table for the upcoming AEW Dynamite New Year’s Smash episode, next Wednesday, December 29. The veteran commentator has been absent from the show to battle with skin cancer, something he was recently diagnosed with.
At New Year’s Smash, the last semi-final match in the TBS Title tournament between Jade Cargill and Thunder Rosa will also take place. Ruby Soho defeated Nyla Rose on this week’s AEW Dynamite to advance to the finals and now she will face Cargill or Rosa, depending on who wins the scheduled semi-final, next Wednesday.

As for the first finale matchup between Soho and Rose, Vickie Guerrero got herself involved in the match to distract the referee. Ruby kicked her off the apron of the ring. Nyla climbed to the top rope for a flying move but instead, she ran into a No Future kick off the top rope, as Ruby received the pinfall win.

The first match involving The Undisputed Era faction on AEW Dynamite will also take place as Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, and Bobby Fish are booked in a 3-on-3 tag team match against Orange Cassidy and The Best Friends.
Former WWE NXT Tag Team Champion Kyle O’Reilly made his All Elite Wrestling debut on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. Kyle and Bobby Fish helped Adam Cole in defeating Orange Cassidy in the opening match of the show. Afterward, AEW President officially announced Kyle’s AEW signing.
