House of Black just captured the AEW World Trios Championship this past Sunday night and within three days, they’ve been booked to defend the belt in a huge matchup set for next week’s AEW Dynamite. Not one but three teams will be competing in the match meaning the champions has to overcome two separate teams to retain.
Chris Jericho and his fellow Jericho Appreciation Society members conquered Top Flight and AR Fox on the March 8 edition of AEW Dynamite after which Jericho declared the JAS had become the new self-proclaimed number-one contenders for the AEW World Trios Titles.
AEW Dynamite: International Championship To Be Launched On March 15 Episode
JAS called House of Black to ringside but it was The Elite who appeared instead. Don Callis took verbal jabs at Jericho, calling him “the second best wrestler from Winnipeg” where next week’s AEW Dynamite is scheduled, marking the company’s return for a show taping to Canada for the first time since last October.
House of Black then hit back to both the teams from the tron. Malakai Black told Jericho and Omega that they are both deserving of a title shot in their hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The lights went out as the group appeared at ringside after which Black then declared the two teams to come and get them.
AEW Dynamite: Big Championship Change As Promised At Revolution 2023
House of Black – Malakai Black, Buddy Matthews, and Brody King ended The Elite’s 53-day reign as World Trios Champions this past Saturday at the Revolution pay-per-view in San Francisco, California. The Elite won the titles for the second time by defeating Death Triangle in the finale of their best-of-seven series on the January 11 episode of AEW Dynamite.
Apart from this title match, Orange Cassidy will defend the All-Atlantic Title for one last time against Jeff Jarrett before it becomes the AEW International Championship. Plus, AEW TBS Champion Jade Cargill also defends her belt in an Open Challenge.
