Wardlow is moving forward to becoming a top superstar with his first Championship win on AEW Dynamite. Last night, Mr. Mayhem managed to defeat Scorpio Sky in the opening contest of AEW’s flagship show to become the brand new TNT Champion which also marked her title reign in AEW.

The title match didn’t go for a long time on AEW Dynamite. Sky hit a low blow on Wardlow to get an advantage while interference was provided by Dan Lambert. Then the former champion came up with plenty of heel means but Wardlow emerged with the victory via clean pinfall.

AEW Dynamite: New TNT Champion Crowned On July 6 Episode 1

This is the second time the two men have competed in the TNT Championship. During their first battle, Wardlow’s long-time rival MJF interfered in the match and helped Sky to come out on top with the title win. Then on last night’s AEW Dynamite, these two competed in a street fight where Sky couldn’t escape the powerbomb symphony finisher from Wardlow.

Wardlow’s theme music was changed on AEW Dynamite

It appears that starting with AEW Dynamite, Wardlow’s rise to the top has already begun as the company changed its presentation to a good extent. He received a brand new entrance theme titled, “Symphony of War”. The song has been written, performed, and composed by Colin Young with contributions coming from mixer Bryan Batiste and co-producer, guitarist, and vocalist, Jordan Olds.

Wardlow made his debut on AEW TV during 2019 All Out pay-per-view via a video package. He appeared in person for the first time on the November 13, 2019, episode of AEW Dynamite by attacking Cody Rhodes. He was then appointed as MJF’s bodyguard. In his first official match on February 19, 2020, from AEW’s debut in Atlanta, Georgia, Wardlow lost to Cody Rhodes in a steel cage match.

Moving on, Wardlow started feuding with his former boss in MJF starting with AEW Double or Nothing on May 29. MJF started throwing shaded on his bodyguard on several occasions until Wardlow finally ran out of patience and assisted CM Punk to win his dog collar match at AEW Revolution against MJF. Then MJF was pulled from AEW TV following his singles loss to Wardlow. MJF last appeared on AEW TV since his passionate pipebomb promo on the June 1 episode of AEW Dynamite.
