Forbidden Door 2022 was the first joint pay-per-view venture between All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling promotion. Five different titles from both the promotions were on the line while an inaugural champion from the AEW roster was also crowned. AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2022 Main Show results:
– ROH & IWGP World Tag Team Championship Match: FTR (c) (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) defeated United Empire (c) (Jeff Cobb and Great-O-Khan) and Roppongi Vice (Rocky Romero and Beretta) to retain the ROH Tag Team Titles and win the IWGP World Tag Team Titles in the opening match of Forbidden Door 2022. Dax Harwood of FTR came back from an injury and hit the Big Rig finisher with Wheeler on Rocky for the pin to win.
Summerslam 2022: Was Roman Reigns Always Expected To Defend His Titles At WWE PLE?
– AEW All-Atlantic Championship Match: Pac defeated Clark Connors, Malakai Black & Miro to become the inaugural champion. Pac hit 450-splashes on Miro and Clark after which he submitted Clark with the Brutalizer submission.
– Dudes With Attitudes (Sting, Darby Allin, and Shingo Takagi) defeated Bullet Club (AEW World Tag Team Champions Young Bucks & El Phantasmo)
– AEW Women’s World Championship Match: Thunder Rosa (c) defeated Toni Storm to retain her title at Forbidden Door 2022.
– IWGP United States Championship Match: Will Ospreay (c) defeated Orange Cassidy to retain his title. The United Empire faction attacked Orange Cassidy after the match. This led Katsuyori Shibata and Roppongi Vice to come out to make the save.
– Claudio Castagnoli (Cesaro in WWE debuted in AEW at Forbidden Door 2022) defeated Zack Sabre Jr.
– IWGP World Heavyweight Championship Match: Jay White (c) defeated Adam Cole, Hangman Page, and Kazuchika Okada to retain his Title. Jay pinned Cole after hitting him with the Bladerunner finisher.
– Interim AEW World Championship Match: Jon Moxley defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi to win the title in the main event of Forbidden Door 2022. A busted open Moxley planted his opponent with his Death Rider finisher to come out on top and end the show.
