With Saraya on their TV screen, AEW fans can’t certainly complain about not having entertainment from the ongoing programs. The veteran female wrestler has always been a treat for the fans be it in the WWE and her recent tenure with the Tony Khan-owned company. It now seems that she could be bringing back a rare aspect of professional wrestling on TV.
If the ongoing reports are any indications then AEW is reportedly planning a huge mixed tag team match between Saraya (fka Paige in WWE) and former WWE Superstar Chris Jericho to team up against Adam Cole and Britt Baker. If and when the match gets officially announced, it is likely to garner huge attention from not only the AEW fans but also from the old-school WWE Universe.

The seeds of this match were planted during this past week’s episode of AEW Dynamite when Adam Cole and Chris Jericho got into a heated promo exchange. Things got even more entertaining with Cole’s real-life girlfriend Britt Baker entering the battle and then Saraya getting involved to neutralize the female talent’s presence.

Saraya to team up with WWE Legend Chris Jericho?
As a result of what transpired on AEW Dynamite, Dave Meltzer stated on Wrestling Observer Radio that this segment acted as a possible setup for a mixed tag team match that could feature Chris Jericho teaming up with Saraya to take on Cole and Baker.
“So it looks like they should be doing Chris Jericho and Saraya against Adam Cole and Britt Baker in a mixed tag,” Meltzer said. (quotes courtesy Ringside News)
As noted above, mixed tag team matches are a rarity in not only AEW but also throughout all the TV programming of the pro-wrestling circuit. So, if this match comes to fruition featuring these popular superstars of this generation, it will undoubtedly be a special occasion for AEW fans. We’ll further have to wait for this Wednesday night to see how the company would like to build this star-studded feud.
Saraya wasn’t supposed to wrestle again after WWE’s medical team and her personal doctors disqualified her from in-ring competition, back in 2017. However, she wanted to put herself through more tests which positively worked out for her as she got on board with the AEW to make that much-anticipated comeback. With this speculated tag match and AEW’s UK show in August, she is having endless opportunities in her career.
