Exactly a year after making her debut at the AEW Dynamite Grand Slam 2022 edition, Saraya will now defend her Women’s Title for the very first time on the 2023 edition scheduled within two weeks from now. Meanwhile, she will get to know the challenger’s name during next week’s episode.

As revealed on the latest episode of AEW Dynamite, Saraya’s Outcasts teammate Toni Storm will take on Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida, and Nyla Rose in a four-way battle to determine a new number-one contender for the AEW Women’s World Title.

With Toni Storm’s recent character shift on AEW Dynamite, she continues to move away from The Outcasts. First, she had an altercation with Saraya at All In and then she had cost Ruby Soho in the latter’s TBS Championship match against Kris Statlander at the All Out pay-per-view in Chicago, last weekend. It’s safe to assume that Toni is the favorite to be the first in line for Saraya’s line from a storyline perspective.

AEW Dynamite: Toni Storm favorite to become new challenger for Women’s Title?

While Baker, Shida, and Rose were not featured on the September 6 episode of AEW Dynamite, Storm did appear in a backstage interview where she mentioned having amnesia when it comes to the AEW Women’s World Title. Chances are high that she will eventually turn out to be the one to challenge Saraya at AEW Grand Slam in what would just be the latter’s fifth singles match on AEW TV.

AEW Dynamite: Saraya Revisits “How Drugs And Alcohol Made” Her Feel

As mentioned above, Saraya debuted on AEW Dynamite in last September’s Grand Slam episode, ending a six-year hiatus from in-ring competition due to a neck injury. It was the injury reasons that WWE never renewed the contract of the former Divas Champion once it expired last summer. Then Tony Khan gave her the opportunity to be back in action and also become a champion, again.

In one of the marquee matches of AEW All In 2023 in her home country of England, Saraya defeated Dr. Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida, and Toni Storm in a Fatal-4-Way Match to win the AEW Women’s World Championship in August. This was the first time in nine long years that the former Paige won a title which makes her the queenpin of the AEW Dynamite roster at this moment.
