Away from the WWE, Saraya is truly enjoying her freedom in professional wrestling in All Elite Wrestling. After signing a contract with the Tony Khan-owned brand, not only has she been able to make a comeback to in-ring competition but also has the choice to wrestle, occasionally whenever her body permits.
Without a doubt, Saraya is considered a pioneer in professional wrestling who blazed the trail for the aspirants. Emerging as a top talent in the so-called Divas era, she helped establish the roster in a strong manner which eventually paved the way for Women’s Evolution in the WWE. Her presence helped a lot in women’s wrestling in a big way on WWE NXT as well as on the main roster.

Saraya had a slow heel-turn after arriving on AEW Dynamite
After WWE released her from the contract, Saraya debuted in AEW during last year’s Grand Slam episode in September. Right out of the gate, she wanted to feature as a heel as spoken in a conversation with Inside the Ropes. But AEW creative head Tony Khan felt that she would work better in her match against Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. as a babyface.
The idea to pair Saraya with Toni Storm came as a way to protect the former two-time Divas Champion from taking more bumps in the ring after returning from the neck injury that put her on the shelf for over five years. The two also were long-time friends and the alliance formed quite naturally.
Soon after her debut match at Full Gear 2022, Saraya eventually get her wish fulfilled to turn into a heel. She and Storm formed The Outcasts alongside Ruby Soho to rule the roost in the AEW. Speaking of this angle, the Glampire Queen also threw praise on the company’s creative aspect.
“We want to do a slow burn story,” she explained. “We don’t want to have a microwave story, we want to have an oven story where we take our time with it and have fun and really sink our teeth into it.”
