Two big championship defenses were reserved for the latest episode of AEW Dynamite in which both the champions came out as the winners. In one of those, AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm defeated Skye Blue to retain her championship. Blue did come up short but that didn’t happen before she offered a tough fight to the champion.

The title retention didn’t come in a fair way as The Outcasts members were out to interfere on AEW Dynamite to interfere in favor of the champion. It was Ruby Soho who provided the distraction allowing Storm to escape a guaranteed three count after the challenger hit her with the Code Blue maneuver. Soho’s tactic never allowed the referee to notice the pin attempt.

Over on AEW Dynamite, The Outcasts also targeted Skye Blue’s mom, who was sitting in the front row to watch her daughter’s first world title match in AEW. Storm and Soho sprayed their paint into the eyes of Blue’s mom. A concerned Blue focused on her which allowed the champion to connect with the Storm Zero finisher for the pinfall win.

After the match was over, the beatdown continued from The Outcasts when NJPW Strong Women’s Champion Willow Nightingale ran in to make the save. These four women will now collide in a tag team grudge match during the premiere of AEW Collision, this Saturday night at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
