Heading into their annual Double or Nothing PPV, AEW Dynamite is expected to present stacked episodes week after week. Seven days from now, another such edition will be presented which will contain a major championship match and a gimmick match inside the unforgiving steel cage structure.

As announced on this week’s AEW Dynamite, Orange Cassidy is scheduled to defend his AEW International Championship against the Jericho Appreciation Society member Daniel Garcia, next week. The match was announced after the victory of Orange Cassidy, Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, and Bandido over the Jericho Appreciation Society in a six-man tag team match, last night.

The last time, Cassidy put his title on the line was on last week’s AEW Dynamite against one of his partners from tonight, Bandido and he retained. The reigning champion already had impressive 20 defenses under his name thus far against the likes of Rush, Buddy Matthews, Katsuyori Shibata, Trent Seven, Wheeler Yuta, and Big Bill amongst others.

With that, next week’s AEW Dynamite will mark the 21st title defense by Cassidy who had made the International Title a busy title belt and himself a true workhorse as the champion. For those who don’t remember, Cassidy won the mid-card belt of the AEW roster from PAC back in October.

The AEW All-Atlantic Championship was rechristened as the International Championship in March. With his bygone 20 title defenses, Cassidy has not only cemented his strong champion legacy but he’s also closing in to Jade Cargill’s 22 defenses with the TBS Championship. Plus, Cassidy is also approaching becoming a champion for 200+ days.

In another major attraction for next week’s AEW Dynamite, Kenny Omega vs. Jon Moxley has been booked inside a Steel Cage which ensures that these two will tear each other apart. With Moxley being an expert in violent matches, things should likely get bloody, reminding everyone that AEW still offers non-PG wrestling.
