At the beginning of this week’s AEW Dynamite, it was announced that CM Punk was stripped of the AEW World Championship. This came after a backstage altercation happened following AEW All Out. AEW President Tony Khan also announced that he’s forced to Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks also lost their AEW World Trios Championships.
A tournament will determine the next world champion, two weeks from now when the AEW Dynamite Grand Slam edition. But new trios champions have already been crowned in the latest edition of Dynamite. In the opening contest, Death Triangle (AEW All-Atlantic Champion Pac & Lucha Brothers) defeated Orange Cassidy & Best Friends to win the vacant AEW World Trios Championship.

Tony Khan addressed fans at the start of last night’s AEW Dynamite and announced that the already-announced match between Death Triangle and the team of Orange Cassidy and Best Friends, was transformed into AEW Trios Titles which was vacant.
With this win, Death Triangle has become the second AEW World Trios Champions. This is also the second time that the members of the trio have held championship gold in AEW. Last year, Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix won the AEW World Tag Team Championship while Pac recently became the inaugural AEW All Atlantic Champion. After last night, Pac is now a dual champion in AEW.

AEW Dynamite: New ROH Pure Champion crowned
Moving on, in the main event of AEW Dynamite, another title changed hands when Daniel Garcia defeated Wheeler Yuta to win the ROH Pure Championship. This was the second time that the two faced off for the Pure Championship. Previously, Yuta and Garcia went at it at ROH’s Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view. Yuta successfully defended his championship against Garcia during that match.
Winning the title was memorable for Yuta as he not only did win the championship, but he also did so in his own hometown of Buffalo, New York. He was accompanied to the ring by Westside Gunn, who performed live for Garcia’s entrance. The audience was also behind during the entire match. Garcia got the win by forcing Yuta to submit to his Dragon Tamer hold. After the match, Bryan Danielson came out and also endorsed the new champion in the ring.
