AEW’s recent original plans for Dynamite needed to be changed around due to Britt Baker who is not fit to feature in the competition. The Pillar of the AEW was originally slated to compete in a match on the January 25 episode but she was pulled from that match. It now appears that her current injury isn’t that much fatal but the officials had decided to keep her out of the ring.
AEW President Tony Khan unexpectedly announced before last week’s Dynamite episode that Britt Baker wouldn’t be competing in the match that was scheduled. Khan cited the reason behind the removal that he wasn’t medically cleared to compete and hence she has to be pulled out from a scheduled triple threat bout against Ruby Soho and Toni Storm on the show.

This is the reason why Ruby Soho and Toni Storm wrestled each other in a singles competition instead. Now, reports have come out about the ongoing situation regarding Britt Baker. During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer spoke briefly about it and said that the former AEW Women’s Champion could have probably wrestled this week, but the officials didn’t want to take any risk as it wouldn’t have been a great idea.
“Britt Baker had an injury and as it was described to me, she’s not hurt badly, and she possibly could have wrestled, but it would have been a bad idea for her to wrestle.” (quotes courtesy Ringside News)

Britt Baker previously wrestled with injuries on Dynamite
It was further added, “she’s not expected to be out of action for any length of time, I was told.” That being said, the current situation is that the top AEW star should be cleared really soon to wrestle, after all.
Britt Baker is a tough female superstar who has competed in hardcore matches and she had also wrestled with a broken wrist and other injuries in the past. However, the exact issue wasn’t revealed which kept her out of the ring, last week. Despite the injury though, she did make the trip to the host venue in Lexington, Kentucky for AEW Dynamite as she still appeared during the show.
Britt Baker’s last match on Dynamite took place after she teamed with Jamie Hayter and defeated Saraya and Toni Storm on January 11, 2023, edition in Los Angeles. The week after week, Hayter, the current AEW Women’s World Champion, and Baker beat the Renegade twins on Rampage. Now, the latter will have to wait for some time to be physically 100% in order to be cleared for action.
